Course Curriculum Overview
This course comes at the mid in the list of preferred courses. You can opt for core jobs in this course or you can go in non-core too. Course load is okayish, so you get enough time to do other things. We have 1 minor exam and 1 major exam per semester along with some quizzes or projects.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies offer internships for 3rd year students with a good stipend. The data can be found on the website of OCS IIT Delhi. Also you can do research internships under the guidance of professors.
Placement Experience
You can apply for the placement activities from your second last semester. There is a club called OCS which looks over all the placement activities. The average package is around 16LPA. Jane Street offered 4 Cr packages too.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are same for all the courses here which is around 119000. There are many scholarships you can avail. The advertisement of scholarships are sent to institute mail, so you can apply for them. You can apply educational loans. There are partial fees too based on financial conditions and categories. You can take projects under professors for some perks which includes stipend also.
Campus Life
Campus life lies at point between chill and okayish. We have many fests organized by different clubs mainly being Rendezvous which is the cultural fest and Tryst which is technical fest. There is a library 24/7 open. It covers wide range of books from many fields. Classrooms are well equipped with projectors, central cooling system, speakers etc. There are many clubs where you can explore yourself and be part of them.
Hostel Facilities
There are some new hostels and some old. Mine one is around 60 years old. We are 2 people living in a single room. The space is just enough for 2 people. The mess food is terrible. Hostel is alloted at the time of admission and it is random, you don't have to apply separately for that. You need to pay mess fees which is around 34000.
Admission
Admission is through JEE Advance, conducted once a year and for that JEE Mains need to be cleared. Once the cutoff is cleared, seats can be availed through JoSAA counceling. Around 16000 seats are there in the 23 IITs.
