Remarks

The college is very good at everything except that it has a little small campus and average placement. The wifi problem was solved too this year thanks to our new director. Overall the college management is very good.

Entrance Preview

WBJEE and I scored 23000 approx to get here. I choose this college as it was one of the best colleges in Kolkata at that time. I had other options to go with that rank but this college was the best I could afford with that.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is very useful, also provides a good industrial exposure. The course curriculum is updated and is according to what a student needs to survive in the current market with lots of competition.

Internships Opportunities

I have just reached the third year so I don't have experience of internship but the college does not provide internship to the seniors while some seniors got internship applying off campus. Overall not happy with the experience.

Placement Experience

3

College placements are average. 60% of students our last senior batch have been placed. The highest salary was offered by IBM at 5.9 lakh/annum and the lowest salary was offered by Infosys at 3.2 lakh/annum. The highest stipend offered is rupees 30000 and the lowest stipend offered is rupees 15000.

College Events

3.5

There are many events celebrated in college from fresher's party to fest. Cultural fest to technical fest. The cultural fest is quite amazing but the technical fest "paridhi" is well known among all colleges of Kolkata. It is one of the biggest cultural fest with loads of prizes offered on spot

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure and moderate but can be referred expensive for a middle-class family. Fees range from 3.8lakh to 4lakh. Yes, it's feasible although little expensive. Loan facility is also available for those who can't afford such fees. The administration is very friendly in this and cooperates with the students.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarship is offered to those who are poor or are very good at studies. While the loan facility is also available for those who want to pay their fees by the loan.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is good. The campus is not much big although. The gender ratio is 5:1 male vs female. This University excels at extracurricular activities sports competitions robotics debates etc. Robotics events are organized as "innovation" and college students participate in the event with enthusiasm.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities are one thing and mess foods are other. Hostel facilities are very good. Clean hostel and near college campus too. food quality I would say. Living in a hostel would be like spending 3000-5000per month which is quite affordable.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is very good. The passed out students are so good that they still visit the college and give some lessons to juniors. The seniors are helpful too and help when the juniors have any problem. The campus is also ragging free so the juniors are free to associate with seniors.

Exam Structure

Exams are there always. You need to be prepared. As the semester starts the internals starts in a month then again next month internals and then in 2 weeks we get lab exam and then followed by main sem exams.

Admission

I had to sit for an entrance exam and with the rank that I mentioned above I got this college and got this in second round of counseling. The admission was easy process if you have the money :) The administration is helpful and more helpful when you are new to the college and coming for admission. There is no such form to fill individually for the admission but you need to produce the needed documents like marksheet, birth certificate, counseling result.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum under MAKAUT is quite comprehensive, which is one of the reasons I choose this course. With making the foundation strong in first year with subjects like maths, physics, chemistry and then the core subjects in the later years. In terms of real life application, lab work, project work and projects make us ready for the industry. The syllabus is also alligned with the competitive exams like GATE.

Placements depends on your skills Usually there is a compulsory internship at the end of 3rd year If you didnt get it via college you should do it from outside but its compulsory And at the end of 4th year you get placement. Placemeng isnt 100% . If you have the skill you will get placed thats the criteria.many people say you are in IIT your life is sorted .but that aint the reality
