Course Curriculum Overview

4

My branch is Mining Engineering . The part of curriculum of NIT which attracts me is I can follow whatever field I have interest in , just I have to do is join group of same thinking students , and that subject oof studying could be far away from Mining , but we have to do it with balance to what actually our branch is and It is kind of backup to all of us that just balance your branch with interest or pasion if worst case senerio happens you can still have Mining placement which is not rather that bad . Our collage timing are fixed and max goes upto 17:15 . Some professors are way to good in teaching and some are far away from me to match their frequency . Area of Improvement could be screens or at least projectors in each and every class , because when a student gets admission in NIT , he expects that he could study with the technologies with better real life explanations which can be made understood with suchh stuffs only.

Internships Opportunities

3

Internship oppourtnities is not only from companies , every year some faculty do recruit some students for intership with some stipend like one I would like to quote : Project Title: "Photoluminescent lanthanide metal-ligand polymer composite for sensing and opto-electronic studies. " Principal Investigator -Dr. Sagarika Bhattacharya Assistant Professor Department of Chemistry NIT Raipur, Chhattisgarh - 492010 Companies actual roles , project and stipend info will be providede by companies to student .

Placement Experience

4

Students are offered placement in 6 semester and before that you can get intership opportunity from collage itself , I dont have number of companies visited for campus and no. of offers made but percentage placement of all branches in our collage are approax 70% and so in my branch 71% with average of 11.43 LPA CTC median of 10 LPA CTC and the highest pakage offered being 55 lakh CTC . Overall B.Tech degree percentage placement is 74% with average of 13.67 LPA CTC , median of 11.6 LPA CTC and highest placement 55 LPA CTC My plans after getting degree is no further educations I just aim to be placed . Actually even I am in Mining department I aspire about doing job in IT company and thus I need placement in IT company .

Fees and Financial Aid

Our per semester fees average is 70,000 not inclusive of hostels and hostel fees per annum is 50,000 , so in total without any scolarship a student should be paying 1,90,000 approax 2 lakh rupees . 8 lakh rupees for 4 year engineering . But there are several scolarships which collage provide which are : Students belonging to Open, EWS & OBC-NCL category whose famuy income is less than Rs. 1.00 lakh per annum shall get full remission of Tuition fees. Hence, they are exempted from payment of 62,500 per semester . Hence their per semester fees goes approax 9,000. Students belonging to Open, EWS & OBC-NCL category whose family income is between Rs. 1.00 lakh to Rs. 5.00 lakh per annum shall get remission of 2/3" of the Tuition fees. Hence, total amount per semester goes around 30,000. Students belonging to SC/ST/PwO category are exempted from payment of Tuition fee.Hence their per semester fees is around 9,000 regardless of family income

Campus Life

3.5

NIT Raipur has many clubs and every club has its own annual fest . Sanskriti Club has annual cultural fest eclectica , E-Cell Club has annual Entrepreneurship event of E-summit , Technocracy club has annual event of Avartan , Shourya the sports club has annual sports event Samar, Raaga the singing club has annual cultural event Shruti , I - cell innovation cell has annual event Avinya and our annual code fest is CodeUtsava . We in NITRR have many clubs with lots of annual event and h more festival events like garba night , Ayodhya Ram mandir Pran Pratishtha celebration . Books in central library are decent but not very good I say . Our classrooms are not technically sounds but computer labs and all are . Some classrooms have not even the projectorrs in it but some classes do have a screen .Sports opportunity are endless but one have to be really aware of opportunity to grab . Student run clubs are very less but the reason being already many clubs exist , in fact 14 clubs are theree

Admission

Admission process was through a competitive exam calledd JEE ( Joint Enterance Exam ) . I had scored 94.09 percentile in it, which means 94.09 percentage of students participated in exam had rank below me . Actually JEE is an exam , later on JOSSA and CSAB are two councelling process . JOSSA fills up seats of collage on basis of rank and student has indepndence to create his own priority list from which he will be alloted collage on basis of rank . CSAB later fills up the vacent seats from JOSSA beacuse some student withdraws their seats , again for CSAB we create new priority list then again student get collage acccording to their priority list and on basis of rank . Only aspect of the exam which I dont like is NEET aspirants which is another exam for medical students they do take part in this exam from which number of students increases which creates a mess , because real competitors cannot be differentiated.

The aspects which i really felt good was their fees of the btech is very low compare to other colleges and they provide decent placement . Like they should really work to teach more tech to cse students instead of theory.
