Course Curriculum Overview
The course is a bit challenging when compared to other courses. I chose this course because of my interest and many companies come for placement for electrical. Coding companies too. The faculty student ratio is good and faculty are much experienced compared to other colleges they start here as assistant professor after 7years teaching experience. In case of exams every semester lasts for 4 months and mid exam is after 2months and finally semester exam at the end. In a year you get 2 4month semesters and 1 4month holidays which is divided into 1 and 3 months between the semesters.
Placement Experience
Internships placement starts from the end of 2nd year and go upto 4th year 1st Sem. Placements start from end of 3rd year and go through the 4th year. There are nearly 160+ companies visiting you can go to nit Durgapur official website nitdgp.ac.in and check in the placement section . You will get a pdf list of companies and students placed. There is nearly 98% placement from our branch and nearly 90% above for college.
Fees and Financial Aid
If you are an open category student without ews you have to pay something near 76k for every Sem for college and 17k for mess. But if you are form other category college fee is just 16k and mess fee is 17k. You can get a scholarship too ranging from 40-60k yearly. So it is like free for other category students except open category without ews.
Campus Life
There are not much fests may be you can have 3 yearly. They don't have a particular date. In case of books there is a good library we can find whatever maximum in terms of course. There are many classroooms with ac and good environment. There will be games inter nit yearly once where all nit's play and compete other than it is of your interest. There are many good clubs like dance, debate, coding, singing, art clubs. You can search nit Durgapur clubs in google.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are good for 1,2 year students and nit much good for 3,4 years students. There will be no ac . They provide you with one bed, one table, one chair and shelf that's it. When talking about food West Bengal is the worst in India so if you want good food don't come here. There is no much process you pay the fees and fill the form provided thats it. You can't stay outside there will be no pg, and it is mandatory to stay in hostel.
Admission
The admission process for me involved taking jee mains exam in centre which I applied in my 12th. I secured 98.3 percentile in the exam and got electrical engineering, which is rank near to 18k. For those eligible for reservation it can be upto 90percentile. The application date,exam fee were provided in the jee website itself.
