IIT KGP - BOON or BANE

Why i chose this course: Instrumentation Engineering in IIT kgp and everywhere else is a circuital branch which is much better than non circuital branches for placement aspect. Also it comes under Electrical Engineering department which also means circuits, signals and all sorts of interesting subjects but still less loaded than electrical branch. Faculty:student ration in iit kgp is 1:19 Faculty in iit kgp are highly qualified all of them having their phd from another or the same iit. Teaching method is also quite nice though in some cases it may vary course to course. Term exams are absolutely timely. there is never any delay. it is not that difficult to pass atleast in first year.

School of internships rajendra prasad available.you can also be intern under our proffessors of esteemed quality giving their valuable tie=me and knowledge. also you can grab plethora of off campus internships from second year onwards or whenever you have any valuable skills.

Students become eligible for placements onwards 3rd year they get to internships which are compulsory. THen in their (2n-1) semester they go through CDC which is official name for the placements in iit kgp. HIghest package is 4cr and lowest is 12 lpa so theres too much range also in recent years due to recession the placement scenario is a bit bleak.

There is not fee hike as of now. Small extra fees are taken for maybe grand dinner in halls but still they are negligible. Cost to study in comparison to givt medical colleges is more in govt engineering colleges as a thumb rule however it is still manageable. You can easily avail education loan from any banks you want. i got the prestigious JBNSTS scholarship recently and thats all.

Life in campus is very happening. There are always something to do in campus except studies in campus. Annual tech fest Kshitij and annual cult fest Spring fest are the main attractions. they are both held in january. IIT kgp has one of the biggest volume of books in its central library apart from its huge collection of books in its own digital library. Regarding sports GC delections happen every year and you get to live the chichhore life on your own. Every evening after class practises goes on and people participate with great vigour. Apart from these, kgp contains innumerable societies like 180DC, Dramatics society- English, Hindi, Bengali, Telegu, BusinessClub, etc.

triple sharing room in Lal Bahadur Shashtri hall of residence. Ethernet port provided. Study table provided. Good spacious room. Meal quality is the only problem in first year for boys. The meals are not properly nutritious and sometimes t=just bland and made with premixes. the LBS mess got the least rating in whole of IIT kgp. You could choose the roommates for your first year; onwards second year hall changes; the mess gets better.

I had given JEE2023 both mains and advanced and with a rank of 2.2k got into iit kgp. Eligibility is you have to pass the 12th grade from a cbse of equivalent board exam. Also you have to take science in your +2 boards with physics, maths and chemsitry compulsory. You have to have 75% minimum percentage in all of the subjects and overall. Application form is already released by Nta for jee 2024. You have to have an eye on the NTA official website to know the dates of application. Application fees was around 1000.
