Flexible attendance requirement Government, although it was only applicable for the first year and second year

Dislikes

Very events and functions of leads to cancellation of classes leading into a Rush completion of syllabus
Shortage of labs and un equipped labs is a problem

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

My course is computer Science . I choose it because it provides more opportunities and also it is the most flexible according to my strengths. My class has about 70 students. The faculty may be qualified, but the teaching methods are not up to the mark it's simply feels like they are presenting a PowerPoint presentation instead of Actually teaching. The exam conducted by the The college in internal levels are quite moderate in difficulty and also the in semester examination is moderate in difficulty

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 400000 per year

Internships Opportunities

1.5

Mainly focused on out of campus internships project starts from the Fifth semester. It is called the pre-final year project guide, allocated to students based on the project. I'm yet to know about the internship opportunities provided by the college. I cannot comment

Placement Experience

2.5

haan placement start from the seventh semester mass recruiters like TCS and Wipro are regular although some good companies like BMC Travis Scott give a package of around 11 and 12,00,000. I'm planning to do an MBA afterMy graduation

Fees and Financial Aid

Theres are many scholarships. But I didnt choose any as I wasnt elligible. Fees didn't hike mid semester . Although it may vary for different batches. I am currently in my third and I not did not get any scholarship till now so I can talk about the on campus job assistance.

Campus Life

There are many fests and technical events happening every month. So if you want to show case your talent, there is ample of opportunities. There is a library where you can get these books. Also we have a book bank facility which provides books free of cost for the whole of the semester. Some classes have smart boards and also the labs are air-conditioned

Admission

I gave the WBJEE exam and the year 2021 and secured rank of about 9000. The admission process includeda two day visit to the college. They gave us some forms which we have to fill and upload in the link and also pay their admission fee. I did not available any reservation benefit, although this college offers many scholarships.

Likes

Supportive Faculty - The professors are highly qualified, approachable and always willing to help students
Free wifi support - There are free wifi support for both student and faculty
Fee Structure - It is very affordable and low compared to other colleges in the region

Dislikes

Placement support is below average, and most studnets have to apply for off campus jobs independently, which is really pathetic in the era of ai where getting a job as a fresher is so difficult
There is no dedicated support or placment cell initiative to help studnets land meaningful summer internships or any kind of internships

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. The remaining drives mostly service based companies like TCS, EY etc and quite a few startups has visited to main campus. The package they offered mostly in between 3.5lpa - 6 lpa. Furthermore the selection process of those startups is quite rigorous often consisting of upto 5 rounds of interview, two technical rounds with two technical interviews, and HR round My plans after getting the degree is either pursue an MBA or preparing for govt jobs

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

Likes

The discipline is followed very strictly. Also you have access to library which is good, teachers are helpful and no ragging policy which is strictly followed and has a decent environment.
Thery conduct seminars which encourages students. Many faculty members are knowledgeable experienced in their respective subjects and helpful willing to solve doubts beyond the classroom also.
The college has decent infrastucture including classrooms, labs and library .

Dislikes

While the curriculum is decent ,it lacks sufficeint practical implementation.More hands on projects, real world application and industry exposure would improve learning significantly.
Campus life can sometimes fell limited in terms of active student interaction.Opportunites for clubs, networking and collaborative activities could be improved.
The college comes under St tHomas School so the campus is not great it is compact and has a canteen.

Placement Experience:

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

I choosed this college because it is autonomous and government run by the State of West Bengal and is affordable and also has good accessability with satisfactory placement report . Yes i got rejection from some other colleges ,i didnt make it due to my WBJEE rank being not any good .My score was below their cutoff You can join RCCIIT by WBJEE counselling through your JEE or WBJEE scores .Almost 80% students are inducted through WBJEE and 20% is left for JEE students .College has no management quota .The cutoff for WBJEE for RCCIIT starts from 10,000 for CSE and runs upto 90,000 for Electrical Engineering...Read More
