A close up to my institution

The course I'm choosing is Civil Engineering. To be honest, I chose this course because I always wanted to bring some differences in the development process in my state. And at the same time , I wanted a settled job so that I could stay at home and help my parents. The faculty: student ratio is quite commendable for our institution . There are assigned lectures and professors for each subject and on top of that research scholars are also there to assist the professors and the lecturers . Different teachers have different teaching methods and habits. When it comes to the qualification of the teachers, I think they are quite good. Most of them are doctorates and some of them are masters. Since they have different teaching methods we always try to adapt in the different way of teachings . To be honest, some teachers give notes in class and teach while some other teachers do not give notes in class and teach only. In a semester there are 2 exams mid sem and end sem not hard pass if focused

In the base module which is the certificate course after 10th standard and in the second year of this course , there is an internship called the winter internship . In this internship , the students can choose any region of their choice to do internship . It might be an instition or an office or a company . The students used to get certificate from this internship and it is needed in the course . The second internship is during the BTech third year . This is a very fun , enjoyable and so much to learn kind of internship . During this internship the students get a chance to travel all over the country and see new things and learn . The students are guided by assigned department teachers from each department . There used to variety of projects form the students . Project on concrete , project on road and pavements , project on AutoCAD and so on. The project that are done by the students are needed to be presented on slide and explain and there is marks for studend of presentation also

Students become eligible for campus placements when they are in the last semester of BTech or BSc degrees . Quite big companies visited for placements . Some of the companies are Pradhan, Edustation , Sieze fire management , Grouwupp, Hike education, ,Srijan company, Red dot health company, Corizo , Salasar Services, Planet spark , Smart Owl education , Learning routes pvt. , Intellipaat Software , Cheperone Solution ,Tata company , Mahindra company visited our institution bfor placements . And many of the students got the relevant jobs after the interview. In a year on an average of 20 students are selected for placements . I have option plans after the degree. My first plan is to apply for government job in my state as I have already mention that I want a stable job . And my second option is to study masters . But applying job and giving GATE exam would be simultaneous I guess. So If I get job , I won't study masters . But if not I'll go for further master studies as simple as it's

Looking broadly for one semester, we pay around twenty thousand in average . This includes the hostel mess fee and semester course fee. Semester course is around 6000 but the hostel mess fee is not constant . It keeps on changing from semester to semester. But I think when comparing to other Technical institions course fees, ours is quite commendable . But besides the semester course fee and hostel mess fee, there are also contributions for the students union of the whole institions as well as the union fees. Hostel mess fee depends on how much was consumed during the last semester . Since consumption is not constant for each semester, there is fluctuations in fee structure . There is no specific scholarship scheme from institution side but we can apply the national scholarships throug our college. There is good placement for some departments like computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering ,mechanical also . But for civil goodplacemnet is not there.

There are lots of college festivals . In the odd semesters which is a period of July to December, most of the important cultural festivals are conducted. College festivals like General Freshers meet, RACAF, department freshers meet are observed. Besides, Teachers day is also celebrated . This is the semester to welcome the new students or freshers . In the even semesters which is a period of January to May , important festivals like sports festival , technical festivals are conducted . The above mentioned festivals from both odd and even semesters , it is made mandatory for all the freshers to participate . The sports week called the Synergy is generally conducted in the month of February , the technical week which is called shristi is generally conducted in the month of April. Availability of books is quite commendable. All the semester books for every student is issued from the library . One social group of the institution is the Students' Union of NERIST which is also known as SUN .

Honestly speaking, the hostel I'm residing is an old hostel which was the first girls' hostel of this institution. So the hostel facilities are not that excellent . The whole hostel is divided into four quadrahts. Our hostel is a g+1 buliding . In each quadrant there are two bathrooms and two toilets both in the ground floor and storey floor. Water taps are installed inside all the bathroom and toilets . Two wash basins are also there along with the two bathrooms and two toilets. For every room a bed, a table, a chair and a cupboard are provided to each student . Each room is a room for two students . Plug points are also provided along with bulbs and a ceiling fan . The meal served by the mess is healthy and simple meal . The food is not spicy . The items for breakfast are very good. The registration for hostel is done right after the counselling . We have to prepay the hostel fee during counseling. The provision of room is applied as per the vacancy of the room . I didn't rent room.

Our college opt for both B.Tech and B.SC courses. For technical line , there are entrance exams like NEE1 ,NEE2 ,NEE3 and there is also option for entry from Joint Entrance Exam. NEE1 is eligible by students who have passed matriculation exam that is the 10th standard exam. NEE2 is eligible by students who have passed 12th standard . Again, NEE2 has two options as PCM and PCB. PCM is the subject course for students applying for B.Tech line and PCB is the subject for students applying for B.Sc Forestry. NEE3 is eligible by students who have passed the Diploma first year . For giving exam we have to apply online application form and we got the afmid card . Exam centre is also given in the admit card.There are some reservations for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled tribes community students . From each state of the North East States of India, particular numbers of students are selected . 20 from NEE1, 7 from NEE2, 5 from NEE3.The admission process is done very strictly.
