Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is practical and relevant to industry needs. I chose it for career alignment. The faculty-to-student ratio ensures personalized attention, with qualified instructors employing effective teaching methods. Timely term exams, although challenging, were manageable with the support of experienced faculty and a well-structured curriculum.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. Companies like Cognizant, with mass recruitment, visit the campus. The average package ranges from 3.5 to 4 LPA, with the highest package reaching 10 LPA. Around 70-80% of students secure placements. You can say that the placement scenario is quite mid
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees were 90k/year during my time, totaling 4 lakhs for the 4-year course. However, there has been a fee hike since. The SVMC scholarship, offering 60k/year, is available if eligibility criteria are met, providing financial assistance. Additionally, on-campus jobs with stipends are accessible, contributing to overall financial support.
Campus Life
Campus life at BP Poddar is limited, mainly comprising three buildings. Despite the lack of outdoor spaces, there are popular tech fests and the annual fest, Elixir. The library is well-equipped with books and journals. While the infrastructure is compact, amenities in classrooms are sufficient. Although there might be limited outdoor spaces, the campus fosters engagement through various tech events and the annual fest.
Admission
The admission process involved WBJEE. I found application details on the institute website, met course eligibility, and availed reservation benefits. The process was smooth, but improved communication for applicant queries would be beneficial. The cutoffs were 30,000 for IT and 20,000 for CSE.
