Likes

The infrastructure is cool, green and lively
The local natives are kind and helpful for all our needs.
The fests and activities are top notch and provide us a greater insight

Dislikes

The syllabus might seem a bit too congested at first but later get better.
The first year hostels are not that great in terms of amenities
The gates to library ate closed for some reason make commute harder

Course Curriculum Overview

They are well experienced in their field and im pretty sure all of them have a phd from IIT as well which makes it reputable. They are kind and provide insights to our various doubts and concerns and are always in the mood to help us out.

Internships Opportunities

There is no internships for 2nd year as it is not compulsory but the more the merrier. But, by third year you'll recieve a bunch of internships from reputed companies depending on your branch if you are able to meet their minimum requirements.

Placement Experience

Placements are the key point in choosing nit. Ofcourse, by 2nd semester you can indulge in internships privately and for 3rd yr you'll have to do a compulsory internship which is a plus point in getting into the placement drive.

Fees and Financial Aid

It can vary from person to person depending on the quota they've gotten into. Except some international students, I feel it's pretty decent 1.4L per annum doesnt feel too much atleast for me. They also provide scholarships and fee waivers for the others.

Campus Life

We have a bunch of clubs anyone can join. We also have hometeams for mime, spoof, fashion etc For fests, we have two fests namely tathva and ragam. Tathva is tech fest while ragam is cultural fest conducted every year.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel is good not that bad, it is mediocre to be honest. You dont have much of the new facilties in the first year hostels, but by 2nd yr u get shifted to mega hostel which has better facilities than before.

Hostel Fee: INR 33000 per year

Admission

The admission process was smooth, i had to give JEE ENTRANCE EXAM and then appaear for it get a decent marks and then choose the desired courses and based on cut off get courses related to my marks then appear offline ad submit my files and required documents for college aission along with fee payment and also hostel if you opted for it.

from semister 6 students become eligible for campus placements and companies loke bank of america , google microsoft etc visited for campus placements and the highest package is about 54 lakhs where as average is 11 lakhs and about 98% of the students are placed

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Placement Experience:

As of what i spoke to the seniors they said that AI students got better placements compared to Core students and the average package is around 9LPA for CSE branches students and 7LPA overall for all the branches and there is CIR foundation classes where they teach us how to improve our communication skills and How to create a resume right from first year itself according to seniors it is very helpfull

An aspiring first year student’s review

Placement Experience:

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college. Accordind to NIRF rankings this is the top 27 Engineering college in India and top 3rd NIT. Admission process is only through JEE Mains Exam. You need very good percentile to join this college. Nit Calicut very good placements too....Read More
