Likes

I liked so many things mainly weather and climate of IITpkd , it was awesome.
I also liked the interaction between the seniors.
I liked the clubs and other extra curricular activities in the campus

Dislikes

The campus was not built or constructed totally.
It was somewhat far distance from the city
Some of the clubs are not active because of not sufficient students

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is perfect and faculty are nicee.I am passionate about civil engineering so,I have chosen it. Faculty: student ratio is good.The faculty members are PhD scholars in the different IITs and MIT.Tge teaching of faculty is very adorable and understandable.The term. Exams are once in 3 months and somewhat difficult to pass.

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 150000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee policy is depends upon the parental income of students and reservation . Different types of scholarships are given to students especially for ST and SC students. Merit scholarships are also given.NSP scholarships are also given.

Campus Life

Annual fest of IITpkd was amazing.It was held in January and called as Petrichor.Tech fests are conducted in some motns like February and November. class rooms are very nice and all things available like projectors. There are frequent sports and other extra curricular activities in IITpkd. There are so many clubs in our college like vadya(dance) and trecking, etc.

Admission

I took entrance exam Jee Advanced eligibility of exam is to clear 12th and Jee mains exams.we can find the application form,fees and dates in the official site of Jee. Reservation benefits are also applicable like (ST,SC,OBC,EWS) . Admission process is perfect.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Main companies visiting the campus are IBM , TCS ,TATA ELXSI,L&T, Cognizant,Toshiba,Vanenburg,Kalkitech,Sobha,Mrf ,Juspay,Dynolt and many more. 70 % students get placement Highest package is 16 lpa and average is 5 lpa After degree higher studies can be considered.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Is engineering here worth it?
