Course Curriculum Overview

I like DS and it will be the major reason I choose this branch also the student ratio is very good, like 1:28 and Hod is very very much friendly and qualified. Also, the exams dates are given well before the time and you have time to prepare for it.

Internships Opportunities

Adobe, Amazon, Microsoft, Sprintr, Arista, AMD, Intel, and many others. They will give you normal roles so you will be fit for any industry that is there. Also, you can opt for summer student exchange as if you want to study further.

Placement Experience

You have to join an internship as it's mandatory for your skills. College helps you get internships from their side in 3rd year but you can also get it in 2nd year. Many big MNC comes to college. And around 92% get placed and 5% opt for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no hike in fees except the mess fees as we all are transferring to the new campus, and you can get scholarships very easily, and yes they will give internships also as it's a mandatory thing to do.

Campus Life

Fest's name is petrichor and it is normally conducted in the month of Fall or Jan or February, also yes we have a public library that is 24/7 open and has a huge variety of books. You can also see published books from international sellers. Also, the Classrooms are all filled with AC, drinking water, good quality desks, and benches also all Classrooms have projectors and all.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are equipped with very fast wifi and all rooms have Ethernet port. Currently, all rooms are double-sharing and triple sharing but are large rooms, also we have attached bathrooms. The meal is very good, and it's very nutritious, they provide 4 imports food and on extra demand, you can buy extra stuffy also registration is done using the joining date.

Hostel Fee: INR 60000 per year

Admission

Only those who have cleared JEE Advance will be able to join IIT, You have to give JEE mains first then Adv, and yes it is beneficial to get a reservation, also the admission process was very simple as we have to register for josaa counseling.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.
