Course Curriculum Overview
I was somewhat intrested in Germany its language and culture and JNU seemed to be best to pursue in degree in this intrest. The faculty:student ratio is 1:16 which is quite good considering JNU is a research institute. All the faculties are PhD holders in the field and their teaching methods are impressive. The first semester is usually smaller than the later ones but it went all well with the syllabus being completed on time. The test papers are easy and doable if you attend the classes properly.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course fee for BA(Hons) German in JNU is the cheapest in all of India i.e. Rs. 268. However that does not affect the quality of teaching here. Schlorships like MCM(Merit cum Means) are also available by stundents whose anual income is below 2 Lac.
Campus Life
All of the schools or centres have their separate freshers party. Centre of German Studies in particular also conducts German Week in which famous personalities like German ambassador come and see the students perform various co-curricular activities. JNU Central library also known as BR Ambedkar Central Library is a home to infinite books. The classrooms are air conditioned and have proper lighting. The sports clubs are not so active however there's a stadium in the campus where you can play football, basketball, volleyball, etc. The university politics is quite famous and various study groups ,public talk groups are also there.
Admission
There's no particular eligibility for the course. You need to score good in GT and English papers of CUET. The cutoff for BA(Hons) German this year was 86%. The application form is available at the site jnu.ac.in. I got admission through EWS category but there's not much of a difference from General Cutoff. There are a lot of student helpdesks available for application form filling and other things.
