Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

This course provides excellent skills for students who are interested in coding and of course, computer science is the most demanding course. My college (Ramanujan College, Delhi University) provides great faculties for computer science honors our college contains 9 computer labs in total. Every computer is in good Shape.

Internships Opportunities

4

If you are good at data analysis then you can get a good internship with a salary of 22k you can even apply if you are in the first year all is matters is how much you know. Which is a good amount for this initial stage.

Placement Experience

4.5

We have our placement cell and there are a lot of internships for all courses and all-year students. It helps us to connect with potential employers and secure job opportunities or internships. My aim is to get a degree of master and get a job in the data science field.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for this particular college are 33,000 per year. We have our placement cell which gives us updates about internships and all types of job opportunities. We also have good scholarships for students who are weak in financial condition.

Campus Life

5

Well, I got two freshers one from our CS department and one from college for all courses and it was so fun. The decoration of the venue was so good. The college has modern infrastructure and facilities to support academics and extracurricular activities. It provides classrooms, a library, sports facilities, and a well-equipped auditorium.

Admission

There was an enterance exam called CUET (Common University Enterance Test). After scoring in CUET we have to go at Delhi University portal to apply for the admission process. In this we have to give basic information about ourself and then give your preference accordingly to the subject. After this the declaration of allotted seats occurs in 3 rounds that is first round, second, round and third round allocation. After this if there are some seats available DU will provide one more chance for those students who were not able to get seat in previous rounds of allocation of seats these are know as spot round. In spot round there are three round. The major difference between these two are that in the first to third round you can update your allocated seat but in spot round you have to accept it. The cut-off varies from college to college and course to course. The higher demanded is course then higher will cut off will vary.

Indira Gandhi National Open University - [IGNOU], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Mathematics)
Reviewed on Sep 5, 2025(Enrolled 2024)

Placement Experience:

Placements in IGNOU are quite limited compared to regular universities. Since IGNOU is an open and distance learning university, it does not have a strong campus placement system like DU or private colleges. There is a Campus Placement Cell (CPC) that conducts job fairs and recruitment drives at some regional centers, but these are not very frequent and mostly depend on the location. Usually, students who are in their final year or have completed the course can apply, but there is no fixed semester rule since the system is flexible. The companies that visit are not very large in number and vary every year. Some private firms, NGOs, BPOs, insurance companies, and small IT firms have participated in the past. The roles are generally entry-level such as sales, customer support, data entry, insurance advisor, or junior IT support. There are very limited opportunities for core mathematics or research roles through placements. As far as packages are concerned, the average package is usually around ?2.5 LPA to ?4 LPA, but since IGNOU is an open university, it cannot be expected to have the same placement levels as regular colleges with full-time classes. Also, the percentage of students placed is very small because most IGNOU students are either working professionals, homemakers, or people preparing for competitive exams, so placements are not the main focus. Many students use the degree as a qualification while pursuing their own career path outside. I am currently in my 2nd year, so I do not have personal placement experience yet. The data I have mentioned here is based on internet sources and feedback from other IGNOU students. From what I have learned, placements exist but are very limited, and one should not rely only on them for career building.
