HIT review

I don't want to go into the Technical field but I prefer to go into Civil Engineering because I want to learn about the construction of houses, flats, etc. The student ratio in the civil engineering department is 1:3. Professors are highly qualified as many of them have been qualified from Jadavpur University, Calcutta University, and Kalyani Government College and some of them have done Ph.D. Teachers take class tests when the module is finished and exams are done at the end of the semester. Exams and class tests are quite easy.

The B.Tech course fees in 393000 and per semester we have to pay approximately 44000. As there are many choices for getting a scholarship. They assist with financial problems. I heard from the teachers and seen the placements of our seniors in our and other departments as well. You can see 92% and 97% placements in departments and some of them get placements in the 6th semester.

Our college organizes two fests all over the year - Heritage Utsav, the annual cultural fest, and Daksh, the annual technical fest. Our college has 4 libraries and every library is big and interior and all over the library there are 35000 books. Lecture and Tutorial Rooms Classrooms are very spacious, airy, and equipped with overhead projector and modern magnetic ceramic board. We have excellent facilities for sports like cricket, football, basketball, golf, etc. and extracurricular activities like drama, dance, singing, music, etc.

The negative point I have to say is that the college doesn't have a hostel for boys as they have a hostel only for girls. But I heard from the girls that the facilities provided in the hostel is excellent and also meal quality is good as they have fixed routine to provide the meal. But there are many boys' hostels near our college. I live in a hostel named Modern Boys Hostel which is near Urbana.

10+2 with 45% + JEE Main. Application form, application fees, and application dates can be found on the Heritage Institute of Technology website. 80% of seats are to be filled by qualified WBJEE candidates, 10% by qualified JEE(Main) candidates, and 10% under Management Quota for candidates having valid rank cards for WBJEE/JEE(Main).
