Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Jadavpur University's Engineering Faculty offers a comprehensive curriculum that combines theoretical knowedge with practical skills. I chose this course due to its longstanding reputation for producing top-tier engineers. The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, providing a strong foundation in engineering principles. The faculty-to-student ratio is favorable, allowing for personalized attention and a better learning experienc. Professors at Jadavpur University are highly qualified, with many holding advanced degrees and extensive industry experience. They use innovative teaching methods, including interactive lectures and practical workshops, to engage students efectively. Term exams at Jadavpur University are typically conductedon schedule, ensuring that the academic calendar is followed closely.

Placement Experience

4

Jadavpur University provides excellent placement opportunities for its students. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester onwards. Top companies like TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, and many others visit the campus, offering a wide range of job profiles. The highest package can go up to 15 LPA, with an average package of around 5-6 LPA. A significant percentage of students, around 90-95%, secure placements. The university's strong ties with industry and a robust career services department contribute to this high placement rate. In my case, I plan to pursue further studies to specialize in my field, aiming for a master's degree. However, many of my peers choose to enter the workforce and gain practical experience, thanks to the excellent placement opportunities provided by the university.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure at Jadavpur University is reaonable and transparent. The cost to study is affordable, making it accessible to a wide range of students. Th university offers various opportunities for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus jobs to ease the financial burden. The university has a well-defined fee hike policy that ensures gradual increases, allowing students to plan heir finances effectively. This policy prevents sudden and exorbitant fee hikes, which is a relief for students and their families. Jadavpur University offers several scholarships and financial assistance programs to support students. Some notable ones include the "Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship" and "Research Assistantships." These programs help acaemically strong and financially challenged students to continue their education without significant financial stress.

Campus Life

4

Life on Jadavpur University's campus is vibrant and enriching. Students enjoy a thriving social life, a wide range of clubs, and excellent infrastructure. The annual fest, "Sanskriti," and the tech fest, "Converge," are eagerly anticipated events conducted in February and March, respectively. They showcase the diverse talents of the student body and provide a platform for creative expression. The university library is well-stocked with an extensive collection of books and journals, supporting academic research and self-study. Classrooms are equipped with modern amenities, including audio-visual aids, ensuring a conducive learning environment. Jadavpur University encourages a holistic development approach, with various sports and extracurricular activities available on campus. Students can participate in sports like cricket, football, and more. There are also cultural and technical clubs where students can explore their interests.

Admission

1. B.E. Eligibility in India typically requires completion of 10+2 or equivalent with a science background, including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. 2. Entrance Exam: Many universities, including Jadavpur, may mandate entrance exams. In the past, WBJEE was used for engineering admissions in West Bengal, but the exam and cutoff scores change annually. 3. Application Process: Find application forms and details on the official website or admission notifications. 4. Application Fees: Fees vary, as specified in the admission notification. Typically, pay the fee online during the application process. 5. Reservation Benefits: Indian universities adhere to government-mandated reservations for categories like SC, ST, OBC, and PwD. 6. Improvement: Infrastructure, No attendance criteria.

Students generally start getting their pre-placement offers from their 3rd year after completion of their internships other students gets their placement too in their final year. Starting from Apple to Google and Microsoft too hired some of our senior but the number of the students get placed in those tech giant companies is very less but there are mass recruiters too like TCS infosys PW chaitanya education TATA steel BHARAT petroleum and many other companies the offers are made based upon the eligibility of the students and the packages are decided based on the skillset and experience of the students . Highest package was 70 LPA this year and the average packages are also pretty good based upom the companies and their offers it ranges from 15-30 LPA .Almost 80-83% students gets placed but it depends on the branch of the students and their skillsets.I want to sit for GATE exam after completion of my BTech and want to persue MTech

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university is MAKAUT so the curriculum is up to the mark. I liked Programming so I chose B.TECH in CSE. The curriculum is very basic in terms of practical world problem though they are building blocks, but you need to do the extra bit of work to qualify for the real world scenarios. I think more mandatory projects integrated with current set of skills would be a cherry on top. Exams are very frequent like every 3-4 months there is a semester exam and they are moderately difficult.
