IIT ROPAR : A DREAM LAND

The course curriculum is very good. The professors are amazing and very helpful in terms of academics and other career options. The seniors and my mentor are helping a lot in exploring the college. The exams are frequently happening and the level of exams is moderate to hard. The technical staff also helps in the smooth conduct of experiments under proper safety measures.

The companies that come for internships are Google, Amazon, Nvidia, Texas Electrical, etc. The roles offered under internships are product management, coding, consultancy, core engineering, etc. The average salary offered in an internship is approx. 30,000 rupees. Different projects and club activities are held so that students can have more practical knowledge.

After the 6th semester internship program starts and students can work on different projects alongside. The companies that visit the college are Google, Texas Electricals, Amazon, Facebook, gigabyte, Nvidia, etc. The college placements percentage is approx. 88%. The highest package is around 55 lakhs and the minimum. Package Is around 6 lakhs. After my degree, I want to start a business related to electrical engineering.

The fee structure for the college is 3 lakh per year including hostel fees and other expenses. The mess system is 5000 rupees per month and for travel purposes. Cycles are available which you can buy from the college itself on the day of registration. I have no scholarships. I am in my first year so no job right now but as per seniors the college placements are pretty good and internships are also very nice but we have to work hard.

The college life is amazing. The annual fest of college is named Zeitgeist and it is happening right now. The college is amazing and full of greenery. The classrooms are pretty big and fully air-conditioned. There are a lot of sports activities and clubs. The best club is pehchan ek Safar which is a government-funded NGO that helps in providing quality education to students who are not able to afford it.

The hostel is nice. It is clean and regular cleaning of hostel rooms can be done by asking the cleaning staff. The allotment of hostel rooms is acc. to the chit system. The meal is okay. For other electrical devices, we need to pay an extra charge. For PG or renting a room, there is no such facility to my knowledge.

The admission process was pretty smooth. The respected forms were available on the website and for any verification, we can connect to the admin block. The whole process of registration was taking place at the auditorium. Eligibility for admission will be to crack jee advanced. The staff was very supportive.
