KIIT : The Dreamland

I was already interested in computer science and I got it here through KIITEE so I picked it up as the campus and reviews were also good. The faculty-to-student ratio is good. Apart from subject faculty, every 20-30 students have a separate mentor too. All the faculties are post-graduated from reputed colleges like IITs and NITS. The term exams as conducted in a separate building for exams as kiit have a gigantic campus and anyone can score well if they have focused a bit in class and studied 2-3 days before the exam.

HiRadius offer 7 students internship with a 15k-45k stipend working as junior developers and in the marketing team. Other companies like Wipro, TCL and Notebook Inc. Gave internships too but the data is not yet revealed publicly.

The student becomes eligible from semester 6 for placement. More than 50 companies visit here with a 97% place rate. The highest package is 62LPA and the average is 9LPA. I will start my startup which I've already started working on after my studies.

The fee is a bit high, for my CSE course, it's 1.92 lahks per semester and 60k for a 3-bed AC attached washroom hostel. But when I'm here, I feel it's justified, you get facilities for what you paid. You don't have to focus on things like laundry and all and you can study and make your career as they take care of almost everything. They have laundry service and washing machine too. I haven't received one campus job yet but seniors have. Companies come to hire interns and even one of the states of odisha, HiRadius has its cell inside campus and students do internships there. Kiit provides scholarships to the top 1000 rank holders of KIITEE of Rs. 10000 per month.

Annual fest takes place every year in December and apart from it, multiple small fests keep on happening throughout the year. The book availability is great, kiit has separate libraries for all branches in a separate building and one huge Centra Library which is no less than a mall. The classroom facilities are great and there are more than sufficient classes. KIIT student activity centre is a cell which manages all student's affairs including sports and all which does a great job. All sports facilities are available including their own indoor stadium and outdoor hockey, cricket and football stadiums. There are multiple clubs here which students run under KSAC and even most of the events are also organised by clubs.

I took addmission through KIITEE which is kiit's entrance exam. I scored 87 percentile in the first phase of the exam, though there were 3 phases I only gave the first one as I got computer science in the first phase. There were reservations for the sc and St categories but I didn't get one as I am from general. The admission form was free and the exam was free. It was a moderate-level exam. The only thing which can be improved is the choice of exam centres and more centres in remote areas.
