Course Curriculum Overview
I am doing B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Jammu. I was interested in Computer science and how the world works with Computers today that's why I chose this course. The faculty-to-student ratio is very good here compared to other colleges, there are about 40 students per branch which is very impressive. Every professor here has a PhD. It's not very difficult to pass the exams, if you have cleared Jee advanced you are used to all this.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are very good in this college. The professors have very good reach and you can ask the professors themselves to provide internships. Students here have been provided stipends up to 2 lacs
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester you are eligible for campus placements, the campus placements here are very good considering it is a new iit. You don't need to worry about your placement being a Cse student. Big companies like Amazon, Microsoft, etc. Have also recruited from here
Fees and Financial Aid
Compared to private colleges, IIT is a government college and the cost is quite affordable. The total cost including the hostel and everything will be about 16-18 lacs for 4 years which in return gives a very nice package
Campus Life
Campus life is decent here but not that good compared to other iits as it is a new one. The annual fest here is Renao which is indeed nice. Tech fest here is Technuctus which is very grand and enjoyable. Sports fest here is Pravaah which is best among all of them. The campus should have been better considering it is an iit
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is very decent compared to other iits as it is a new iit. Hostel conditions are still good. You have a bed, shelf, almirah, table, etc. In hostel. For the first year it's 2 people in one room but for seniors, you have the option of single AC rooms.
Admission
I gave JEE-Advanced in 2023. I got 160 marks and an All India Rank of 4215. I applied for IIT Jammu through JoSAA. You can apply for Jee Advanced through their website very easily if you have cleared Jee Mains. After that, if you qualify for Jee Advanced, You get your CRL which is declared for top 25K students. Usually the general category cutoff for IIT Jammu lies between 4-5k CRL. Once you clear the cutoff, you get all the mails and information from iit jammu but you have to keep checking their website about when to report, what documents you need for reporting, etc.
