Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course simply because I got that via my preference list moreover I have heard a lot that the botany department of DRC is really good. coming to the faculty there are sufficient profs over every student and It's like a 7:1 ratio. Most of the profs are Ph.D. and gate net set qualified teachers and except for a few they have a very dynamic teaching style and make you fall in love with the subject that they teach. the term exams were more of an open book exam and they were easy

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee is high in my college when I compare it to other DU colleges. My fee for one year is 36000 and other files and everything will cost you around 10-15k. Till now there has been no scholarship provided to us but they are trying to collect the data of students

Campus Life

2.5

library system is a full fail we have been provided with library membership till now our classes have ACs and projectors but some of them work some of them dont. Our library lacks a lot of amenities. Manjari is the annual fest but it is yet to be organised and It's average not very good. the sports facilities are zero the basketball court is in the sadbhavna (auditorium of our college) and there are chairs all around it and you can't play. There are a few groups on insta @botony_unfiltered which is run by a senior of mine

Hostel Facilities

4

They have provided us with a small bed a cupboard and a table chair and a mirror apart from that we have a fully air-conditioned room and we have a fan as well there are 2 sharing and 4 sharing rooms and a few special rooms that have 40 k extra charge. meals are good there are diverse food options but sometimes the breakfast are failed but none the less everything they cook in lunch and dinner is quite good. they also give us sweet dishes for dinner. The only con the hostel has is that the curfew time is 7 and they have common washrooms. The registration fee for a hostel is 200 bucks and they open it after 1st cutoff for the hostel comes the hostel fee is 170000

Admission

The admission process was easy It didn't take time it was simple I uploaded my documents online on du site and they verified it and then the fee portal opened for me. I entered by giving CUET the cutoff generally depends on a lot of factors like reservation and all. For BSC Hons Botany you have to have read Sciences in 10+2. Application forms are available on the CUET website and then you register on the CSAS portal. The admission process was a smooth one so no improvement is needed

I will rate 10 out of 7 to this course curriculum because in this course the experiment and lab works is too low as compare to another courses like biomedical science, bsc zoology and many more. But it's ok I'm happy with this course.

Students become eligible for placements on the 3rd year, we have decent placement opportunities but not the best, highest package is around 15 lakhs. Companies that visit are Bain and Co., Urban Clap etc. average package is around 5 lakhs. My plans after getting the degree are getting into a master's programme and pursuing research.
