Matrusri Engineering College, B.Tech {Hons.}, Electronics and Communication Engineering
Reviewed on Apr 17, 2018

Remarks

Cons : 1)Located in centre of the city 2) Quality of teaching and circulum is increased every year 3)Our college is affiliated to Osmania 4) Number of placements and the number of companies visiting is improving a lot every year Of course not all the students gets placed but the number is increasing every year. Cons 1) No Non-Veg 2) Restrictions - A lot You cannot enter into college from back gate and many more 3)Lot of communication gap between principal and other departments 4) Some of the departments gives a lot of importance for academics rather than placements even in 4th year !!!

Entrance Preview

EAMCET, I applied through a regular portal which I scored 851 in intermediate and, I opted this college because firstly it has the good reputation and moreover it's very near to my home.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum is traditional, i.e it needs to get changed every year, Although our faculty encourages us to projects mandatory on trending technologies (For all 3rd and 2nd years ). This method is being implemented from last year. Regarding research, We had good labs but those are not really fit for research, Recently an R&D lab had started which has more focus on raspberry pi and aurdino.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, Every year many companies visit our college and companies like Oracle offer internship with written exam conducted. Also presently I am working as an intern which is through on campus. Companies like Oracle, Talentio, FACE offer internship both during final year and after final year, Where an option is left to us

Placement Experience

4.5

In terms of placements , I can say that our college is the only college that is growing fastly than any other college in Twin cities . Presently I got placed in Genpact , Justdial , Talentio , Mindtree. Our college provides CRT training from 2nd year onwards with different training companies. This year two companies Nutcracker, Statestreet visited our college offering 5-5.5 L per annum with free pick and drop, free medical insurance as a bonus. There are many colleges which take money from students who are placed and do scams during placement test But unlike them, we have a very transparent and sincere system which works and strives for excellence "Legally".

College Events

3.5

Regarding events our college has different clubs 1)Dance club 2)Music Club 3)Orators club 4) Street cause 5)With You (NGO) MCC - Official student body I won't say we have a lot events throughout the year but yes we have atleast 1 every month ! Orators club formed by placement cell mainly focuses on improving communication skills and removing stage fear from students which is quite rare in an other colleges.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Unlike other colleges we don't need to pay lakhs and lakhs every year Presently we have 80K + Fee structure for first year including all extra fees . Our college doesn't charges any extra fees through out the acedamics other than the acedemic fees . Ever year the fees will get increased by 10+K Presently 4th years have 63K has annual fees 67K for 3rd years And 75K for 2nd years

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college offers scholarship if you are high merit in terms of acedamics and Non-acedemics We have different student branches like. IETE , IEEE which conducts several competitions every year , The best one will be sent to Delhi /Capital branch and scholarship will be provided by them .

Campus Life

3.5

We have A fest every year Sadya2K , Jashn (Traditional day) , Woman's day , Debates , Group discussions , open mike sessions by placement cell (Orators club) and MCC Atleast 10-15 workshops( of different departments of different topics )will be conducted every in our college every year . Our college is a pure vegan so they follow rules strictly so NO inequality or bias between people In terms of parties , Lol they never happen ;)

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Our college doesn't have any hostel but students can reside around many places near our college like IS Sadan ,Champapet , Dilshuknagar Most of them live in near by hostels The average cost of them is around 3.5 - 4.5 K per month Which includes both food and accommodation . But I can say that those hostels are not at the par !

Alumni/Alumna

They alumini network has started 3 years back and been improving Evey year Presently we have a president , chairman , vice chair for alumini Most of the students placed in different companies help college all ways possible But it's not best , It's still improving but in a faster pace !

Exam Structure

Exam structure changes rapidly, presently we have CBCS system which offers only grades which are far better than ours. We have 8-semester structure where you will be detained if you have more than 12 backlogs Of course, many students object this rule as it's not viable to all! The biggest relief is we don't have any engineering drawing subject , it's shifted to CAD lab

Admission

entered the college through B category admission The principal in this college follows this procedure stirctly That is the reason I got into Matrusri without donation , I.e I am through 15 percentage B cat criteria who are shortlisted through applications ,not donations

Faculty

3.5

Regarding faculty , They keep on changing , That is quality of faculty is improving everyyear Although I wouldn't say we have' The best ever faculty 'but their standards and quality in terms on teaching standards have been increasing drastically every year . Our professors and HOD's have a lot of experience in both industry and in teaching fields They can do a lot to make our circulum interesting and more productive. Our HOD is more student friendly and gives a lot of motivation.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to attend for campus placements from 6th semester. Campus placements are pretty average around 5 lakhs. If the student fails to place in campus placements they need to try off-campus placements. The highest package here a student has achieved is 64 lakhs, he got placed in amazon in an off-campus placement. The companies which offer campus placements are average. The percentage of students getting placements is around 25 percent. I plan to try both on-campus and off-campus placements after getting my degree.
