Course Curriculum Overview

4

I am a student at NITty members are highly experienced and knowledgeable, and they are always ready to help t Calicut pursue the EEE course I must say that the curriculum is well-designed and covers all the necessary topics that are required for a student to become a successful electrical engineer. The faculty students with their doubts and queries. The faculty-to-student ratio is also good, which ensures that every student gets proper attention and guidance from the professors. The faculty members have excellent qualifications and experience in the field of electrical engineering, and they use a very effective teaching method that makes the concepts easy to understand.

Internships Opportunities

4

At NIT Calicut, we offer a range of exciting internship opportunities with various renowned companies. Some of the companies that offer internships with stipends include TATA Steel, Amazon, Microsoft, and IBM. The roles offered under these internships include software development, data analysis, marketing, and engineering. The projects assigned to interns are challenging and require a high level of dedication and hard work.

Placement Experience

4

From what I know, students become eligible for campus placements from their 7th semester onwards. The placements at NIT Calicut are quite good, with a lot of top companies visiting the campus every year. Some of the companies that visited the campus recently include Amazon, Microsoft, Google, IBM, TCS, Infosys, Deloitte, and many more. The number of offers made by these companies varies each year, but on average, around 80-90% of students get placed. The highest package offered last year was around 40 LPA, while the average package offered was around 10-12 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

NIT Calicut has a policy of yearly fee hikes, making the cost of studying at this prestigious institution on the higher end. However, the quality of education and opportunities available make it worth the investment. There are several scholarship and financial aid options available to students, including the Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for those with exceptional academic performance and financial need.

Campus Life

4.5

Social life here is amazing, as there are many social groups and clubs for students to join. These groups and clubs help students to connect with each other and make new friends. One such popular social event is the annual fest, Ragam, which takes place in the month of March and attracts a lot of participants from all over the country. The tech fest, Tathva, is held in the month of November and is equally popular among students. The library is well-stocked with books and journals on various subjects, making it a great resource for students who are interested in research.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facility is quite decent, with basic amenities provided in the room. The room includes a bed, a study table, a chair, and a cupboard. As for the meal quality, it is decent enough with a diverse menu that includes vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The hostel mess provides breakfast, lunch, tea snacks, and dinner. The registration process for the hostel is quite simple, and the affordability is reasonable.

Admission

I applied to NIT Calicut recently and I must say the admission process was quite smooth and hassle-free. The eligibility criteria for the course were clearly mentioned on the website and I found all the necessary information about the application form, fees, and dates easily on the official portal, the details were clearly mentioned as well. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the admission process, but I feel like there could be some improvements made to make it even more user-friendly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
