I am pursuing a Bsc. Agriculture as I came to know about the job opportunities associated with it. Faculty: The student ratio is poor because of a lack of recruitment in this sector for a long time. Quality of teaching is average because there are a limited number of teachers who could inculcate our interest in this subject through their good teaching methods. Others were just presenting slides and reading out the lines written on them. Random announcement of exams was frequent with only 40 percent syllabus completed in 3 months and 60 percent syllabus completed only 10 days before the exam. Moreover, there were midterm,endterm, and viva throughout 1 month and it was very hectic due to continuous 33 exam papers conducted at a time.

Class Size: 122Course Fees: INR 21000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Our adjacent senior used to pay Rs 1500 per month, but suddenly there was a price hike during our admission and we need to pay Rs 7000 per month; moreover, the college takes fees for stationery products but doesn't provide anything. There are only a few campusing opportunities and that too in the private sector with minimal salary.

Campus Life

Annual fest conducted once in 4 years but not annually, mainly conducted in the month of October, The library has a good number of books and journals. Smartboard and AC are available in the classroom. There are no such sports or curricular activities conducted. Only a limited number of students present themselves during annual sports conducted at other colleges. There is no social group run for students, but there are definitely political and hostel-related groups run by students.

Admission

After class 12, we needed to apply through an online form submission that was available on the college website. I didn't have any reservations, so can't tell you much about this. But surely there are some reservation seats as present in every college. The admission process was smooth so I don't feel any need for improvement.

Something is better than nothing

Course Curriculum Overview:

Seat limit has been decreased into a little amount.So, getting chance is more difficult .there are 3 faculties agriculture, horticulture, agriculture engineering.In agriculture faculty so many departments are there ,but seat limit is less.In total seat,80%is for domicile students of West Bengal and 20%for icar accredited university students.In that 80% 70% for university home students and 10% for rest of the domicile students.

The exam was divided into 3 parts I.e 1st mock (15) marks,2nd mock(15 mark) and then final (50mark) and rest 20 mark as practiCal and field work.the students who do class regularly,is easy to pass because teachers are awesome..but if anyone miss class then it's hard to understand by reading books. The guard during exam is too hard..so those students who read concentrately are passed easily .. and those who don't read whole year and only read exam night they failed..

BCKV, a place to cherish forever.

You have to secure good percentage in Higher Secondary and clear the cutoff (More than 90%) to get into UG. You have to clear cutoff of University exams to get into PG/PhD. Eligibility is 12th with P+C+B or vocational with related subjects from any board. Students can also get admission from ICAR AIEEA (UG) exam. Application forms are available on the official website of the university ( https://bckv.edu.in ) when the application portal is opened. The date varies from time to time, generally, the application starts after the result of the 12th board exam is published. Yes, there are reservations for SC ST OBC students, General EWS students also get the benefit of reservation. In each semester there is one midterm one practical evaluation and one final end term for each course in a semester. Difficulty level is moderate.
