Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course because of my interest in the field of computer science. The faculty-to-student ratio is around 1:6. The faculties here have commendable teaching skills and values. They all are highly educated people from various top colleges in India as well as from abroad. There are two exams per semester. The first one is 20 marks which is for the mid-semester. If one is thorough with the concepts then they can perform quite well in exams. For the case of the end semester which is held at the end of the semester is of 50 marks. One has to practice a lot and be prepared well only then can one score in it.

Internships Opportunities

4

Goldman Sachs offers around 80k per month stipend for an internship duration of two months. Microsoft offers around 1 lakh per month of stipend. The projects are based on real-life problem-solving skills which when accomplished may help to enhance one's pre-existing skills.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students can usually start sitting in the placements once they reach the 6th semester of their studies. Usually, there are a lot of companies that visit a few to name are Yugabyte which offered the highest package of 52 lakhs to three students two years back. Last year the same company made an offer of 62 lakhs to a student. Amazon, Adobe, and Cisco are also some of those companies that give dream packages like that lying in the range of 15+ to 35 lakhs at Max. The median of packages offered overall for the computer science stream is around 8 lakh per annum. Almost everyone gets placed, the ones who aren't as dedicated as required usually get a package in mass recruiting companies like TCS, Accenture, and Infosys. I plan to take a placement after completing the degree and then I may later pursue a master's degree abroad.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no fee hike as such in between an academic year but after 4 years or so a hike of 1 lac in total institution fees is observed. There are many scholarships given to the top 1000 rank holders in the exam held by KIIT.

Campus Life

4.5

There are many tech fests held usually around November and December. There is also an annual fest in which there are a lot of things to be a fan of. Everyone can enjoy them to the fullest with lots of singers coming by, dance performances, food stalls, and much more. There are a lot of books and journals in the library. This is a thing one can be in awe of as there is a central library of 6 floors. There are around 20 departmental libraries across the campus. Also, the sports and extracurricular activities here are top-notch, cricket fields, football grounds, hockey stadiums, basketball, badminton, and tennis courts spread throughout the campus. There are many clubs run by students adding nss and NCC to that just makes it better.

Hostel Facilities

4

There is a bed, study table, two fans, ac, cupboard, bucket, and mug provided to every hostel boarder. The meal provided at the canteen is overall good, at times it may take a bit of time to adjust to the food given, but eventually one gets used to it. For the veg eaters, there isn't much to offer. But it's a delightful treat for the non-veg eaters. To apply for a hostel one has to fill in the form which they would receive in their registered email address. The hostel fees are kind of affordable as they are priced at 50k per semester for a three-bed AC room type.

Admission

The eligibility criteria for the course was 12th std percentage to be equal to or above 60%. All the required information regarding the application form for the entrance exam of the college i.e. KIITEE accompanied with the details of the application date are mentioned on the official website of the college. The application fee is zero rupees which means it costs nil to apply for appearing in the entrance test. There are as such no reservation benefits so it's a plus point for everyone. The admission process is very transparent and good so I think there ain't any need to improve upon that aspect.

Placement Experience:

Placement record is not so good.. companies like Microsoft and Google have blacklisted KIIT due to poor performance and mismanagement by the KIIT in providing with the right candidates. KIIT shortlists students in basis of multiple tests taken on platforms like AMCAT and on that basics provides the profiles of best performing candidates to the companies invited for campus hirings regardless of the field and job specifications and requirements, so basically KIIT has a very below average performance Training and Placement Cell as they lack decision making and management skills to segregate candidates for hirings according to their skills and not by their general scores and CGPA. NOTE: Companies have shown least interest in KIIT for last 2 years and the poor performance of previous batches and mismanagement by KIIT authorities. KIIT promises 100% placements but that is actually far from reality.
