Hostel and faculty distance is more , it is very time consuming
Gym facilities are not good , the machile and the dumbbells is too old and not in sufficient numbers
Out of the campus it is rural area , road and shopping facilities is not so good

Course Curriculum Overview

The course BSc Hons Agriculture is very lengthy. In this course overall all the sub is included in this course. Our faculty members are very active major of them are researchers. There are 8th semesters each semester three exams one is the midterm which is 20 marks second is the practical exam including viva voce and 3rd is the end-term which is 50 marks.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 14000 per year

Internships Opportunities

In the 7th semester, there are internships for 6 months. Students get 3000 per month for internships. In the internship program students interact face-to-face with the farmers and give their suggestions for better yield.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for each semester are 7000 means 14000 per year although this fee is increasing per year. There are central Library where all of the books of this course are available and the teachers are also provide notes. No required for tuition. No scholarship is available.

Campus Life

There is an annual fest named Naihrit, and Interyear football, and cricket tournament also occur. The library is one of the largest libraries in Asia. So many books and journals are there. There is a gymnasium and badminton court. There is a web page for us which is handled by students.

Hostel Facilities

The room is small for three students it will be better if one room is allotted for two students. The room condition is better. Meal quality is good, there are 3 -4 grand in one month. Overall meal was good For hostel registration, we had to pay 2500 rs. Here a hostel is mandatory so if you want to rent it will be a high cost.

Hostel Fee: INR 30000 per year

Admission

I applied for admission online on the University website, then the merit list was published and I got selected in the merit list. Then I took admission online and paid the admission fees. Then I had to go to University for physics verification as the vivid situation was going on this journey was very hectic. Then I reached and my documents were verified and I got the hostel.

Something is better than nothing

Course Curriculum Overview:

Seat limit has been decreased into a little amount.So, getting chance is more difficult .there are 3 faculties agriculture, horticulture, agriculture engineering.In agriculture faculty so many departments are there ,but seat limit is less.In total seat,80%is for domicile students of West Bengal and 20%for icar accredited university students.In that 80% 70% for university home students and 10% for rest of the domicile students.

The exam was divided into 3 parts I.e 1st mock (15) marks,2nd mock(15 mark) and then final (50mark) and rest 20 mark as practiCal and field work.the students who do class regularly,is easy to pass because teachers are awesome..but if anyone miss class then it's hard to understand by reading books. The guard during exam is too hard..so those students who read concentrately are passed easily .. and those who don't read whole year and only read exam night they failed..

BCKV, a place to cherish forever.

You have to secure good percentage in Higher Secondary and clear the cutoff (More than 90%) to get into UG. You have to clear cutoff of University exams to get into PG/PhD. Eligibility is 12th with P+C+B or vocational with related subjects from any board. Students can also get admission from ICAR AIEEA (UG) exam. Application forms are available on the official website of the university ( https://bckv.edu.in ) when the application portal is opened. The date varies from time to time, generally, the application starts after the result of the 12th board exam is published. Yes, there are reservations for SC ST OBC students, General EWS students also get the benefit of reservation. In each semester there is one midterm one practical evaluation and one final end term for each course in a semester. Difficulty level is moderate.
