CUTN campus life of a 1st year student

Integrated courses is much better than normal ug courses so you can finish ug and pg in a go. CUTN Chemistry department is DST FIST sponsered So we will get more chances in the chemistry lab facilities including modern equipment. Here they are allowing us to do project in our 4th year under experienced mentors. Faculty members mainly are 9 including 3 associate professors. They are also providing,phD,MSC Chemistry, Diploma along with Integrated 5year course Faculties are all well experienced in their field and published many journals.Most of them did their post doc researches abroad. During 1sem 1 guest faculty and 1 associate professor was there.Lab was conducted under the guidance of a assistant professor and another professor. Exam was conducted on time and result also published within a month. Sem exams are difficult to a certain range but an average student can pass the exam.

Fee structure is comparatively low with other Central Universities.For 1st year per sem it was 8090 rupeesand second year 8900 rupees. But new admitted students now have the price hike in course fee as the have to pay what we are paying in our 2nd year that is 8900 itself. Hostel facilities are provided .there are girls hostels and three boys hostels and seperate hostels for phD students.Hostel fees is 2000 per sem. Cost of study is minimal but mess fees is excess 3410/- per month

Annual fest are Arambh which is a one day programme in multi-purpose hall conducted in March. Aminities here is near to hostel and have a veg and non veg hotel ,a juice shop,a backery,a tea shop ,a stationary shop and a beauty parlour.these all are recently built there is badinton court inside and backside 24/7 health centre. Handball,shuttle , football are main sport activities. There are teams for cricket, basketball, football,kabadI,judo participating national level of sports. Freedom speakers is the main website run by students to raise their voice against any issues.Nss and Ncc is active.

3 seperate girls hostels we have to shift hostel when new admitted students are joined.In girls hostel three people are in a room.One single and one bunk bed. Bed we have to buy there is two shelf and 5 showcase. Provided with two tables and chairs. Mess is really a mess.last sem there was protest against mess food quality and integrated hostel mess system.now new contract is given and it has become more difficult.we have to give 3410 rupees per month instead of 2790 rupees.price hike 20 rupees per day.mess reduction have to give when going home and minimum days is 8 days instead of 5 days.meal menu has been changed recently.idli,dosa,puri,Pongal,bread and jam for break fast.lunch rice and chapati,poriyal,eggor banana,chicken or paneer. While coming for admission they will give application form.we have to print out and fill it then submit in hostel office along with aadhar card copy.Hostel fees is 2000/- per sem and here is a remote area so rent room is not always possible.
