Honest review of Vellore institute of technology

I applied to a few colleges for Btech Biotechnology but I finally chose VIT, Vellore because it clearly stood out in terms of academic qualities, facilities, and career prospects. I applied to several universities including SRM University, manipal Institute of Technology., and a state government college. SRM confirmed my admission but I chose VIT because of its Biotechnology Reputation, state of the art labs, vibrant research environment and exposure to industry collaborations. manipal rejected my applications because the entrance exam rank was slightly lower below the closing rank that year and I believe competetion was too high there. The Admission process was smooth in VIT and transpaent with eligibility requiring completion of 12th grade physics, chemistry and biology ormaths and admission is based on its own entrance exam. after the exam results, counselling and seat allotment is done based on rank and course preference...Read More

The institute helps to take a science subject with some other course which is very unique that no other colleges provide, the admission is on merit basis of the 12th marks,the college also provides funding to budding entrepreneurs...Read More

I applied for tnea college and got my seat allocated in normal private engineering colleges B.tech cse. I applied for 2nd round too and got my seat allocated in a normal safety college but beside these studying in int mtech in vit vellore is better than studying btech cse in normal private college. I choose VIT for the following reasons: 1. The ambience and the greenary of the campus . The campus is almost 372 acres which is a pretty decent size. 2. The safety of girl students. The intime is 7 pm and the hostel intime is 8:30 which enables safety of girls. 3. VIT has a good reputation with a variety of companies coming for placements. 4. Hands on experiance. VIT ranks in top 10 all over the India in NRIF ranking and has a quite good reputation over other colleges . Other colleges were descent but VIT is prefered for private college as its moe popular so attracts more placements...Read More

Well I first dreamt of going into IITs, NITs and BITs, but due to my health issues, I didn't get the expected marks and so I can't make it in that college. At the same time, I have given the VITEEE exam as well , and fortunately I got this exam cleared with the good rank, and so I got Data Science as my second priority in VIT vellore and hence by suggestion of my seniors , I made my mind and taken admission in this college. One thing I must tell you, this college is not so good in comparison to BITs, NITs and IITs, but Its so much better than rest of the private colleges.
