My College : VIT Vellore

I find it very fascinating to study Data Science as well I find out that this field is going to be in trend in upcoming time, therefore I decided to opt for this field and hence choose Data Science as my career path. Right now, I am in First year so, I haven't yet encountered with core subjects and their exams , therefore I can't tell about the difficuclty level and give my views on them. But one thing I must tell you that choosing Data Science as your career path won't dissappoint you.

Here you will get various opportunities to get internship in companies and various startups which they will notify you from your college email id. They will also provide you opportunity to participate in various hackathons. You can also get to work in various projects under many faculties. RIght now I am in first year so I can't give you project names and all as I haven't yet work in any of these. But my seniors are working in these.

Placements in this college is pretty good. Here, the companies coming in this college for placements are TCS, Wipro, Microsoft, etc. which is called superdream offers in this college. You have to get 8.5+ GPA in your internals to get the oppportunity to sit in placements of superdream offers. Average placement in this college is around 10LPA. and highest is around 1 Crore. I am planning to get job in superdream companies.

Well, the fee in VIT vellore based on the category wise. Like for category 1 in CSE(and specialization) is around 1lakh 98 thousand while for category 2 , it is around 3 lakh, for category 3 fee is around 4 lakh , for category 4 , it is around 4 lakh 50 thousand , and for category 5, it is around 5 lakh. Here, you will get scholarship for those girls whose family income not more than 8.5 LPA.

In vit vellore, two fests are being conducted, one technical fest called GRAVITAS and one cultural fest called RIVIERA. There is one library in this college which have many books for engineering and also you can issue it as well for reading. There are so many clubs and chapters in this college, both cultural and technical. Here you get the opportunity to play many games and exrtracurricular activities as they offer many opportunities in this college.

Here, you get many types of hostel variety like AC/Non-AC, Apartment / Non - Apartment type and their fee is also different from one another which you can explore it from VIT Vellore official website. Overall the hostel facility is pretty much good and also mess food is okay-okay. Here, you will get mostly South Indian dishes in menu of mess. You will also get many PGs and rooms near college in around 2km radius around college.

Well I first dreamt of going into IITs, NITs and BITs, but due to my health issues, I didn't get the expected marks and so I can't make it in that college. At the same time, I have given the VITEEE exam as well , and fortunately I got this exam cleared with the good rank, and so I got Data Science as my second priority in VIT vellore and hence by suggestion of my seniors , I made my mind and taken admission in this college. One thing I must tell you, this college is not so good in comparison to BITs, NITs and IITs, but Its so much better than rest of the private colleges. Also the placement in this college is pretty good. So, I will recommend this college to you.

Well, honestly speaking, here you will get a variety of faculty, some good and some bad. I got almost good faculty till now, but some of my friends get the worst, and some get average one. So, It actuallly depends on your luck and teacher you choose in FFCS. Faculty-to-Student ratio is generally 1:60 . Here in one semester you will have to give 3 exams(two mid sem exams (CAT-1 and CAT-2)and one end sem exam(FAT)). So, basically FAT is easier than CAT exams.

Usually you have to get inside hostels before 8:30 p.m. , but you can work in clubs and campus in the night time as well by applying for night slip. You can also get to study in library in night and also night canteen is available as well. You can hangout in college campus in night by applying for night slip, but they won't allow to get out of the campus in night. College campus is so safe due to PDA guards in this campus so, you can hangout freely in the campus
