Course Curriculum Overview

4

ECE is a core subject in the upcoming technologies like the semiconductor field etc. which is why I chose this branch. VIT has a lot of labs and equipment that enables a person to learn and grasp practical knowledge faster. The teaching methods include using a PPT and using a white board . Sometimes flip classes are done when students explain topics. The 2nd open book test is the toughest in difficulty level when compared to exam 1 and the final test.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am currently in 4th year and im paying Rs 3 Lakh for tuition and 2 lakh as hostel fees. Hostel fees depends on which hostel is chosen AC/NON -AC. The fees is based on the Category given by the institute during the admission process. There are 5 category of fees with 1 being the lowest fees. The fees can go up to 10 Lakh including hostel fee for NRI students. The admission for Btech is through the VITEEE exam which costs Rs 1350 for online mode.

Campus Life

4

There are two major events , Riviera and Gravitas. Riviera is the cultural fest and Gravitas is the tech fest. Between these two fests there are multiple club events and hackathons conducted . The library has a vast number of books and journals. The classrooms are not equiped with AC but has a lot of ventilation .

Admission

I choose VIT for the following reasons: 1. The ambience and the greenary of the campus . The campus is almost 372 acres which is a pretty decent size. 2. The safety of girl students. The intime is 7 pm and the hostel intime is 8:30 which enables safety of girls. 3. VIT has a good reputation with a variety of companies coming for placements. 4. Hands on experiance. There are many tech events that enable practical thinking .

Faculty

5

The faculty student ratio is good. The class size for each subject is around 60 students. The student teacher relationship is friendly and the faculties clear doubts whenever one arises. I am from the electronics branch and I love all the professors. They are well knowledgable and provide deep insights for each subject. There are 3 exams for each sem. They are called Continuous Assessment Test -1 and 2 and Final Assessment Test. Continuous test 2 is an open book exam. There are plenty of Assignments and course projects enabling proficiency in that subject.

Night Life

3

My favorite hang out spots are some restuarants. There are many gyms around the campus. For boys intime is 9:30 pm around and for girls intime is 7:00 pm due to the safety of girls. Some good hangout spots is 7nth heaven which is a bakery near the campus and Pizza Hut and Dominos which are near the film theatre approx 1 km away from campus.
