Course Curriculum Overview
I chose CSE because of my interest in coding. Some faculty members are very good and enthusiastic about their subjects while some just come for formality, while some others are just crazy, depends on your luck what you get. The faculty is highly qualified two of my professors were PhD from IIT Kharagpur. Term exams are pretty easy to pass if you study at least a week before exams and make proper notes in classes.
Internships Opportunities
Interships are pretty easy to grab in KIIT as a company has an office in the campus itself, the company is called high radius. My internship experience at the university was pretty satisfactory. Some students have done internships from the first year itself.
Placement Experience
Campus placements start from 3rd year. 350+ companies visit the campus. For details of the placement go to the college website. The percentage of students placed according to NIRF data is ~50%. My plans after the degree are to do a job if I get a good one or try GATE and GRE.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is 192000 rupees per semester. Hostels can vary from 30k-60k depending on your choice and mess fees are 22.5k per semester. Scholarships are given to students getting under 1k rank in KIITEE.
Campus Life
College life here is pretty lively compared to other colleges. It's a big campus of 700 acres with a big crowd and fests happen every year. Lots of societies and competitions. The library here is one of the best in Indian engineering colleges, almost all kinds are books are available here. Classrooms have smart boards and AC. Literally, all sports are available here, you name it, it's here, too many opportunities for extracurriculars.
Hostel Facilities
I chose 3 bed AC nonpremium. I have one window AC in my room and 3 cupboards for each boarder. Beds, mattresses, pillows, bedsheets, buckets, mugs, dustbins etc are provided. Food quality in mess is okayish, not too good not too bad. The bathrooms and washrooms are clean. Washing machines and laundry facilities are provided, but they are paid.
Admission
Admissions to KIIT are taken through KIITEE, an entrance exam with no application fees. I got CSE at 75 percentile in this exam. There is a reservation for SC, ST, OBC, and females. The admission process was pretty simple not too many documents were required.
