Course Curriculum Overview

The faculty was very good they teach from basics and help students. All the faculty were extremely qualified they are done their Ph.D. from foreign universities every year containing 2 end semesters and 2 mid-semesters, every exam will be done over a two months time period.

A huge number of companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, Barclays, Texas, and core companies like DRDO, Vedanta, TATA STEEL, JSW, Tata Metallics, Carlevics, and HAL also come for the requirements process and many other software and analytics company come to NIT ROURKELA for requirements.

The prefinal year is for the internship offered by the college placement cell and the final year is for placement. 100 % of record-breaking placement given to the students by the placement committee for 5 years.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of the academic is 95000 per year and 37000 hostel and other fees. An alumni-funded scholarship and a state government scholarship will be given to the students and for sc, St, obc students who have a family income of less than 100000 the tuition fee was free.

Campus Life

The beautiful greenery campus of NITR has a great infrastructure having 79 total clubs. There are a total of 4 societies which were Tech, Literature and cultural, Film & music and sports, The annual tech fest INNOVATION & cultural tech fest NITRUTSAV.

Admission

For doing B. Tech M . Tech Dual degree in Nit Rourkela, one should face the JEE MAIN exam. After the exam one should take part in the JOSHA counseling process, all the additional, exams will be notified by the NTA JEE website. For selection in NIT ROURKELA, the cut-up will be 92.

Value For money college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.

Overall the college and the campus is very good but the exam pattern is worse so it should be improved

The course and curriculum is nice as they are interelated to each other and encourage us to study more and makes us more curious to learn new things but we have some minor course which I don't think it is required for the course and we only have some credits for that course not even exam is being conducted

Placement Experience:

From 6th sem of completion eligible to sit in placement called by campus placement in university. Companies like accenture, techmahindra,tech bee,and wipro comes for hiring. Highest package till now is 29 lpa and lowest is 1.5 lpa. Average package is 5lpa. Mostly 80 percentage of students getting placement from campus drive. My plan after getting degree is getting job from campus drive.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.

NIT ROURKELA THE ACTUAL REVIEW

I had a choice for chemical engineering in NIT Calicut,kerala my home state but i was not interested in chemistry so I dropped that choice and preferred electrical engineering in NIT Rourkela because choosing this would be more related to core and computer field which also was the one I was interested in.
