Overall the college is good if you're not getting NITs

Just like every other 'Private Engineering College in India' KIIT also have pretty below average teaching faculty. Although you'll find some really good teachers, they are rare. The good ones are really knowledgeable and student-friendly. But on the other hand, there are many faculty who make students' life real hell. Beware before choosing the faculty, take teacher reviews from seniors first then choose.

Placement previously used to be average. But I doubt it now. With the huge influx of students in the coming years, the placements will be affected badly. We have a dedicated TNP (Training and Placement Cell) which assists throughout the placement season but it's not that great. The number of on-campus opportunities is also average only. The college tries, but that's not enough. Students have to take things into their own hands in order to bag good packages. College forces you into unpaid internships if you haven't done any internship before 4th year.

The fees, unlike many other colleges, don't increase each semester. But remains the same throughout the course. Whatever the semester fees included everything excluding Mess and Hostel. For scholarship, the top performer of each semester gets 10k per month and the same for the top 100 performers of KIITEE. Overall the fees are pretty expensive.

The fests and functions if I had to summarise in a single word then they are 'GRAND'. But The huge amount of students really spoils the environment. If you're an extrovert then it's heaven for you. But I prefer a somewhat inclusive environment, which is absent in KIIT. Last KIIT Fest they got Sunidhi Chauhan and I must say it was a banger. Once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Hostel fees was about 28,000 per semester. (For 3 bed non AC rooms, AC and double beded rooms costs more) But the hostel room quality depends upon which hostel you get. Some hostels that our seniors got were really nice, but the newly constructed ones are pretty below average. There're made just to maximize college profit. All we get in the name of accomodation is a bed, simple table and a cupboard. Nothing else. No balcony, no shelf for keeping books. Even no mirrors. Although the girls hostels are really good. Everything that you could expect in a hotel, you'll get in the girl's hostel.(Except for the curfew timing :( )

KIIT used to take admission through both JEE rank as well as KIITEE (Standalone entrance test). Entering the college is fairly easy. The admission process was smooth, even during COVID time. I got around 6000 ranks and easily got CSE. Although the CSE branch is a joke, there were more than 3000 seats for CSE itself. Anything above the 85 percentile in JEE would've been enough to get admitted in the 2021 batch. Although the no. Of students spikes the further two years so I'm assuming admission must have got even easier.
