BITS PILANI where magic happens.

I conclude my review by saying , BITS PILANI is magic :)

I gave BITS HD( Higher Degree ) entrance exam for Software System. I got 250 score out of 400. As Software System course focuses on Software skills, I opted this course as I wanted to become software developer.

The software System course is divided in 4 semesters. First semester focuses object oriented programming and software engineering- management related courses. Second Semester focuses about one research project and advanced data mining. Third semester focuses about the cloud computing or networking ( depend upon student).

We have internship program called Practice School, where student get internship based on their CGPA. BITS have tie up with majority of all companies in india. I got internship in paypal. My stipend was 50K per month.

Placement is least concerned topic for any bitsian as lost of companies do come to PILANI campus for recruitment. For our batch, following companies had come for recruitment. Microsoft, PayPal ,Google,Adobedirect,Flipkart,Myntra,DeShawm,Oracle,Cisco,SnapDeal,Visaand many more.

We have total 50 + clubs in pilani . The clubs can be formed on base of region , interest , sports or any particular activity. Every festival is widely celebrated in bits pilani. E,g. For Janmashtmi, we have dahi handi competition, for Ganesh Chaturthi we have ganesh pooja and visarjan event.We have one annual cultural event called oasis which is being celebrated for 72 hours straight. We do have technical festive called APOGEE which is being widely celebrated across india for 72 hours.

That actually depends on how rich or poor you actually are. For an average middle class Indian it would be difficult to afford the normal fees which is almost 1 lakh per semester not counting the exorbitant highly inflated mess fees.The worst part is that the tuition and mess fees keep increasing every semester while there is no visible increase in quality of education or food.One option is a merit-cum-need scholarship which is provided to all students yet I do not think it is of substantial amount.Another option is a full merit scholarship where upto 80% of fees would be wavered but you would have to be a 9+ pointer to achieve this which is quite difficult to achieve in BITS but definitely possible if you put your mind into it.

There are plenty of sports & other activities as well for us to participate in. Many M.Eites play for the college team. There are also cultural activities like music, dance, and mime etc. in which we can be a part of provided we clear the interview of those clubs J There is even the Nirmaan organization which is like a NGO started by BITS Pilani grads to help the society. And there is also a club representing the various states in India. This helps you in meeting people from your state and bonding with them. You can also become an active member of the club and help in organizing events and stuff. Pretty cool.So basically, what I am trying to say is that you can be anybody you want to be and achieve anything you want to. The opportunities are endless.

Hostels are quite good. Hostels have old building. But each hostel has all necessary facility ( water cooler with purifier , geyser , open ground , tt court, common tv room, badminton court, football ground)Each mess was handled by SODEXO. So, mess food w

Exam were chilled out.Most of the exams were open book/ partially open book, where main focus was on concept. Here in BITS , bookish knowledge in not encouraged.

The faculty is really top notch. The professors have tremendous amount of knowledge and are widely respected among other top colleges in India. We can approach the professor who is working in your field of interest and find out what projects they are doin
