I like its nice weather and beautiful location.
It has good environment to focus on studies.

Dislikes

No frequent events, activities and lack of venues to conduct events.
NIT Srinagar is one of the smallest NIT in terms of campus area.
No semester breaks. Only winter vacations.

Course Curriculum Overview

I am pursuing Btech in chemical engineering which is 4 year course. Departing here is good and there is no shortage of professors. As it is NIT, it must be the best in all fields and it is. Examinations are done twice a semester and are not so difficult to pass.

Class Size: 96Course Fees: INR 826000 per year

Internships Opportunities

NIT Srinagar offers good and big opportunities for internships. Approximately 90% of students get internships every year. Some of the students who want to go into the research field can get huge opportunities in internships.

Placement Experience

NIT Srinagar provides good placements. Approximately 80% of students get placed every year. Every year some big companies come to college and offer a good package to the students. Around 90% of students get internships.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure varies according to category. There is a full tuition fee waiver for students who have an annual family income of less than 1 lakh rupees. 40 % or something for those who have an annual family income of between 1-5 lakh.

Campus Life

NIT Srinagar is not so frequent in social events but it organizes Techvaganza, which is the biggest tech event in northern India. The library is good and has most of the books you need. Classrooms have good facilities also.

Admission

I appeared for JEE mains and after clearing the cutoff and college cutoff, I got admission by JOSAA counseling. It was a smooth process. My details got transferred from JOSAA to college and after physical reporting, My documents were checked and I got admission.

NIT Sringar is beautiful!!

Placement Experience:

Marshal the placement resources so well that our college has close to 90% placement records. Siemens, ABB and such companies where ECE engineers can contribute are the companies that hires us and the average for our ECE branch is 6 lakhs or so.

Is Nit Srinagar worth it?

Placement Experience:

Yes my college offers placements for each branch students becomes eligible after sixth semester if they doent have any active supply in there course and very company have their own criteria to make eligble to the student for placements like cgpa etc. companies visited in civil was L&T, Tata steel, Jsw, Afcon etc and the average package was 6 lakh every company brought diffrent no. of offers average was 5 in civil highest package got to mine class crc of 1300000 that was a psu and the percentage of students got placed was 10% only. mine plans after was to prepare for goverments exams.

There are in campus placements in our university. Students become eligible for the same from 7th semester. Companies like IBM, AMAZON, WIPRO, INFOSYS, DELOITTE, CGEGG, HONDA, NTPC, ACCENTURE are the top recruiters. The highest package was of 36.5 LPA and the average is 11.5LPA in the year 2023. The placement rate was of 108.38%.

Placement Experience:

Our institute has a placement call, and it helps the students acquire jobs in the industry. Many top companies like Wipro, L and T, and NVIDIA visit our campus, and it provides jobs in every field from Information Tech. to Material-related jobs. Here job opportunities are for every branch. Recently in one day 30-40 students got placed at an average package of 10 LPA. Most of the opportunities are for CSE and IT students as it goes for every institute and some companies like GAIL, and IOCL. BARC gives internship opportunities to chemical branches too. The core branches like Electrical and Mechanical also perform well in the placements. From the 7th semester, placement opportunities are given to the students. Highest package 40 LPA and median package 10 LPA.

Nit Srinagar the heaven

Admission:

First apply for jee mains exam and get a rank under 50000 and also minimum 75% marks in 12th exam and you have only three attempt to qualify jee mains exam if you clear the cutoff so you also eligible for jee advance exam for the admission in IIT

Remarks:

The university is situated in the Trikuta foothills and is 80 km away from the main Jammu city so one has to bear that because everything is not available sometimes. Electricity is 24×7 and the weather is awesome.

Is Nit Srinagar worth it?

I got this college on the basis of councellign held after jee main result before this i got Natinal institue of technology Megalya i left that beacuse of non permanent hostel facility and bad reviews from the seniors and the distance from mine hoemtown sikar(Rajasthan) even many good engineerig colleges was there in mine list but because of mine less marks in jee main and advance i am unable to get them (example : nit silchar, nit Wrangle, nit Trichy etc) but over all mine college was good according to Enviroment conditions and other parameters and the admission process was very smooth just you have to verify your documents ....Read More

As we all know that the B.Tech course is of four years and divided into eight semesters. It is offereed across 8 different specialisations including /cse, /ee, ECE, MEC, META, CIVIL, IT /cHE . The course admission is done on the basis of candidate's performance in JEE Main followed by JOSSA counselling/CSAB counselling. The allotment is donw on the basis of merit score in Je/e Main. The Eligibility Criteria is that the candiddate must qualify JEE Main and score above 75% marks in 12th. A score of 96 - 97 p;ercentile is enough for an OB/C or General student and 93% -90 perccentile for SC / ST students.
