Likes

people at CUK come from various parts of India and this is the one thing that I like the most it's diversity.
Education is comparatively good in this locality. CUK is a boon for people of Karnataka and the people near to the university.
many events and fests are arranged which includes us in cultural, sports and various aspects for our all round development.

Dislikes

there's a big place got to our university but the empty places aren't used properly. there can be any useful things done in those places.
everything is almost perfect but there's no college uniform in CUK.
there is greenery in the university but it can be increased whim can make our university more beautiful.

Course Curriculum Overview

I had an immense interest to study literature. this was the major reason to take up this course. faculty members are very knowledgeable and cooperative. There are a minimum number of seats taken so there's not much crowd in the classroom. All the faculties are awarded Ph.D. in their own interests. our term exams were set once in 4.5 months, so we would face a little difficulty to cover topics but it was not impossible.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is not a burden to students compared to other universities, CUK costs are very low in case of fees but with an excellent education. there are some scholarship facilities also. it will be very helpful for the students but for general category students, much of the scholarship is not provided.

Campus Life

We have got numerous fests conducted in our college. every month minimum of 3-4 fests are definitely conducted. words fall short to describe the library. our central library is well furnished and highly equipped with the latest technology. books can be tracked, they're well arranged in their own racks and there's a WIFI facility also.

Hostel Facilities

Rooms in hostels are well furnished, neat and tidy. most of our needs are met in the hostels we are provided with. Mess food is not that good or bad. hostel fee is affordable and the registration process is also very simple.

Admission

To get admission for most of the courses in the Central University of Karnataka(CUK) we had to write the CUET exam and the General test paper mandatory. we can find the application form or any necessary details on the official website of CUK. Reservations based on caste and HKR region facility were provided.

Campus Life @ Central University of Karnataka

Likes

The campus was too good in its environment.
The exposure was too good with good library facilities.
We can socialise with Pan Indian exposure

Dislikes

Hostel facilities was not well maintained
Hostel food was not that much good sometimes
College was situated in a rural place, it was so hard to travel.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA English curriculum at the Central University of Karnataka is comprehensive and academically relevant. The course covers British Literature, American Literature, Indian Writing in English, Literary Theory, Linguistics, and Cultural Studies, providing students with a strong foundation in language and literature. The interdisciplinary approach under NEP and the availability of electives were among the factors that influenced my decision to choose this course.

A honest Review of KJC

Likes

Well maintained Campus with almost 4 blocks and a lot of canteens
knowledgeable faculty and a lot of interesting and practical subjects
A lot of fests and programs almost every day

Placement Experience:

We have a separate placement cell, and everyone interested can join in for the same. We have students placed in target, Deloitte, Accenture and other companies, both domestic and international. Students in the final year can be eligible for the campus placements.

Dislikes

Fee is not worth to the college they are money minded
The behaviour of principal is not good towards students
80 persent over there are Malayalam students

The quality of teaching for my course - BA Economics (Hons) is exceptional. The professors give quality time with each student to ensure concepts are clear and go beyond the surface level teaching of all concepts.
Every student gets their own mentor, who is a professor within the University who will help you guide yourself through everything, ranging from academic difficulties to personal grievances. There are regular sessions scheduled with these mentors..
There is plenty of freedom in the university. Unlike other university's there is no strict dress code or unreasonable rules for the students to follow. The campus allows each indivitual to be true to themselves.

Dislikes

The campus is very far from the city, making it difficult to have any sort of weekend get aways to the city tiresome. There are very few places around the campus that will let you experience city life.
The university does not encourage competitive spirit festivals like youth festivals apart from sports. Hence narrowing down the avenues where students can get certificates for extra curriculars to add on to your CVs
Academic rigor can get too overwhelming sometimes and one may not get time to study for other parallel exams for masters like GMAT, CAT, GRE etc. Finding time for extra curriculars may also get difficult.

Placement Experience:

The university does have a placement team which faculy and student led. Studnets become eligible for placements towards the end of their fourth year - last semeter. Approximately 100-150 NGO's come to campus for recruiting. The university does not promote private firms for placement but students can apply indivitually. The average pay is 20 Lakh per year. Many students after undergraduation opt for higher studies, so is my plan. But most of the master's students opt for placement and 98% - 99% get placed into NGO in top positions. I plan to pursure a masters degree after my undergraduation, preferably in economics.

Insight into KJC by a real life student

Likes

The campus is a plus. It's really clean and green. They really take care of the cleanliness of the Campus. As for the girls to boys ratio, in my class there are more girls than boys. Idk much about college overall.
I like my professors a lot. But it's all about luck. I got nice ones.
We have LMS in college. So we are provided with notes and syllabus online that we can use anytime we want.

Dislikes

The administrative office is very annoying sometimes. Just to answer one question they send the students to different offices and waste our time.
I don't understand the dress code system. I mean it's good but girls are not allowed to wear long skirt. I'm not talking about short clothes. But even long skirts are not allowed.
I would say I dislike the locality sometimes. It's not that developed so there's always something kind of construction going on which causes a lot of pollution and breathing problem specially for me with breathing issues.

Course Curriculum Overview:

We get to learn many things not because of just the syllabus and courses but also because of the national and international conferences that are held in our college. People from other colleges come in and share their knowledge with us. This experience is really good for us students. We even have expert lectures from our alumnis who give us advice on what all is required in the world outside college to earn. All these are really helpful.

I applied for a few Central University based on my entrance marks. But i couldn't able to make into other colleges due to shortage of marks.
