Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

There is a decent ratio of student teachers, 10 faculties in total, for a class strength of 21-28. The faculty is highly qualified, their resumes can be found on the main website of CUK. The exams were moderate, daily reading would solve any kind of questions.

Placement Experience

2.5

No placement is offered by the university for BA students, usually, students continue further studies in MA or choose to try government exams and get employment. MA students of the Department of English, till now all students have been employed from the beginning of the university.

Fees and Financial Aid

Semester fees round up to 6000 to 7000, and hostel and Mess fees per semester round up to 12000 to 16000. For BA Hons students there are no financial jobs available at the campus. Almost all Central University and state scholarships are available.

Campus Life

3

Every department holds its fest, meaning every month there is something or the other happening. There is one inter-school fest, where different departments come together and compete for house points. The university has a big multiple-purpose hall, for indoor games and stage performances. It has a huge ground for outdoor games, equipment can be borrowed from the multiple-purpose hall. The university is very big, but nothing much apart from departments and hostels. It's pretty barren. The classrooms are equipped with AC and digital boards for use. The university has a decent building for a library.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel is not the best, the food is at most mediocre, and it's edible at least. A room is usually shared between 6-7 students with bunker beds. The hostels are far from the department and it's quite a hassle to walk if one owns a vehicle it's easy. There is an electric van for public transportation but timings are variable.

Admission

For enrolling in the university, the candidate needs to write CUCET( Central University common entrance exam). For more information regarding the application and fee visit CUCET's official website. While filling in for the exam, the candidate needs to fill in the choices of university they would like to enroll in, after the results of the exam are announced, each university will shortlist accepted students. Later, counseling will be held to fill the seats that are not filled up.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA English curriculum at the Central University of Karnataka is comprehensive and academically relevant. The course covers British Literature, American Literature, Indian Writing in English, Literary Theory, Linguistics, and Cultural Studies, providing students with a strong foundation in language and literature. The interdisciplinary approach under NEP and the availability of electives were among the factors that influenced my decision to choose this course.

Placement Experience:

The university does have a placement team which faculy and student led. Studnets become eligible for placements towards the end of their fourth year - last semeter. Approximately 100-150 NGO's come to campus for recruiting. The university does not promote private firms for placement but students can apply indivitually. The average pay is 20 Lakh per year. Many students after undergraduation opt for higher studies, so is my plan. But most of the master's students opt for placement and 98% - 99% get placed into NGO in top positions. I plan to pursure a masters degree after my undergraduation, preferably in economics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

We get to learn many things not because of just the syllabus and courses but also because of the national and international conferences that are held in our college. People from other colleges come in and share their knowledge with us. This experience is really good for us students. We even have expert lectures from our alumnis who give us advice on what all is required in the world outside college to earn. All these are really helpful.
