Course Curriculum Overview
I choose Petroleum Engineering because it was the best I found according to my rank in jee advanced. There is a lot of confusion between colleges, and which one I choose, but I finally choose IIT ISM Petroleum Engineering due to good placements, culture, and other things. The ratio of students: to faculty is around 1:20 . NO doubt the qualification of professors is excellent, each one of them is best in their field but I found some profs lag in teaching method. There are mainly 2 exams in every semister mid sem exam and end sem exam and also some quizzes, for students it like easy to pass but a little bit tough to score good grades.
Internships Opportunities
Petroleum Engineering students can get summer internships with ONGC, Cairn India, and Reliance Industries. These companies offer internships in the areas of drilling, production, reservoir engineering, and geoscience. Interns work on real-world projects and have the opportunity to learn from experienced engineers. Internships typically offer a stipend, which can vary depending on the company and the length of the internship. Some of the projects that interns can expect to work on include developing 3D models of oilfields. To apply for an internship with one of these companies, you will need to submit your resume, transcripts, and a cover letter. You may also be required to take an online assessment or interview.
Placement Experience
The placement scenario at my college is good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester onwards. A wide variety of companies visit our campus, including ONGC, Cairn Oil and Gas, and many more. In the last placement season, the highest package offered was 51.03 lakhs per annum, and the average package was 18.15 lakhs per annum. The placement percentage was 88.61%. I am confident about my chances of getting placed after graduation. I have been preparing for campus placements since the beginning of my college.
Fees and Financial Aid
students have to pay semister fees before the starting of the semister, for me in petroleum engineering the overall fee of the course is around 10.56 lakhs. well, there can be reduced if you are SC/ST/PWD and some scholarship if you want. you can do an internship which can give you money.
Campus Life
life in college is good we have a lot of fests and the biggest fest name is Srijan there is hack fest, khatna, Parkham, concerto, and lots of fests they all conducted well. There are lots of clubs and organizations that you can join based on your interests. Whether you love sports, music, drama, photography, coding, or anything else, there are Manthan music club live talk ism, Abhay dramatic club, lights camera ism, for free. and 20+ clubs for you. The campus has really nice buildings and facilities that make learning enjoyable. The classrooms are modern and have things like projectors, and whiteboards, there are sports clubs and according to your sports Intrest.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility at my college is pretty decent. I have a single room with two people, which is a bit cramped, but it's not too bad. The room comes with a bed, a desk, a chair, and a closet. There's also a shared bathroom and toilet in every corridor. The meal quality is average. It's not as good as home cooking, but it's not bad either. The menu changes every day, but there's always a good variety of options. I usually have breakfast, dinner, and lunch with evening tea. The registration process for the hostel was pretty smooth.
Admission
My admission process was smooth. I entered in IIT ism by giving the JEE Advanced exam. The eligibility was to be a math student with more than 75 percent in the 12th board exam and qualify for the advanced exam by giving jee main. The application form can be found easily online even cyber cells can also help you easily by providing dates, forms, and other things. For me the whole admission process was smooth but I found it a little time-consuming.
Other Applied Colleges
IIT BHU - Indian Institute of Technology | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Metallurgical Engineering)
Because for me petroleum engineering in ism is better than metallurgy in bhu
