College Life

The course curriculum is very good and works according to the academic calendar. The faculty members are also very good and supportive. I have chosen mechanical engineering because I have a huge interest in robotics and this college is also very famous for mechanical engineering and also provides an honors degree in mechanical. That's why I chose this course. Most of the faculty are from IITS, NITS, and famous colleges.

The placement of the college is average. This college is third tire college. The students became eligible for campus placements in their 4th year or 7th semester. The placement from Computer science department is very high. The companies that visit here are TCS, Mahindra, Cognizant, Isgec, Swaraj, Jio, Capgemini, HUL, JSW, Chima boilers, Godrej, Salsar, Kangaroo, etc. I have to get placement after the completion of my degree.

The fee structure is approx. 35000 for per semester in degree that includes hostel fees also and the mess fees is approx. 3000 per month . There is a lot of scholarship opportunities for the students some are NSP, PMS etc. And there is also a scholarship provided by the school that is Student fee waiver. This scholarship is given to the top 3 students of each branch.

The campus life of the college is very satisfying. The campus has a lot of space inside the college. The annual fest happens once in a year that is cultural fest named as Madhuram SLIET. This cultural fest is very full with fun and enjoyment. Lot of students take participate in multiple events and the winners are also awarded by the Director. The Technical event happens every year on the month of March that is Techfest SLIET. The books are provided to each student by the Central library of the college 3 book to each student from Central library and 3 book from book bank that we have to resubmit in the end of semester.

The best that I like about this college is the hostel facility. There are 10 boys hostels and 3 girls hostels in the college and there is always different hostel for the different year students. Also, the hostel is always clean and the room provided to us is also very spacious. We have to accommodate 3 students in each room. The registration of the hostel is done at the time of admission. The students are also provided a single sitting room in their final year.

The admission process is very easy. You can fill the application form from the official website of sliet is sliet.ac.in . after filling the application for you have to give the exam conducted by the SLIET authorities and after that you have to go through the councelling process and at the time of admission you have choose the hostel . There are reservation benefits for the obc , sc/St students and also for the Punjab state students.
