Remarks

Please join this institute only if you are looking to get into service/hospitality industry. I repaired it later but this college helped me grow as a person and I am doing fine today. It's been 2 years I have passed out from college. I joined HUL through college placement. After a year, I joined a early stage startup which got acquired by Quikr and now I am handling Delhi NCR for Quikr services.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course includes IHM and IGNOU syllabus for 3 years and 6 semesters. It's covers all basic subjects for Hotel administration and operations. The college is best in India for HM and most reputed as well. sanjeevani kapoor (the famous Chef) is one of the alumni of the college.

Internships Opportunities

The college provides internship across all hotels. The hotels usually visit the campus for recruitment or you can request a faculty teacher to guide you through the process in case you want to get into some particular brand.

Placement Experience

4

The placement are best in the country if compared to the other IHM across nation. They have good organisations such as HUL, airlines and 5 star chains coming in every year for campus placements. The starting salaries are less if compared to other streams such as engineering, medical, etc. I got the highest package in college which was 3.25L per annum.

College Events

2.5

They have sports meet, annual day function, they do participants in international and national culinary events and there is much exposure for young chefs. An annual fresher's and farewell event also takes place. The events are strict and need to organised under faculty supervision.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is around 40-50k per semester which included only turion and IGNOU books. Other Books/notes are separate and need to be purchased separately. Its a central govt institute, thus it's not much expensive. It also gives an option for hostel accommodation which is also cheap (around 15k per semester) and only triple sharing basis.

Fees and Financial Aid

You can avail for Loan. There is no famous scholarship I am aware of. The loan would be easily available bas it is a central govt college with good reputation.

Campus Life

4

There are not much extra caricullar activities as such. The college has a small ground, basketball court, etc. There are few no of girls. 1/5th of the students are girls. Thus, hotel industry is mainly dominated by males. There is zero political influence or any student union. It's a pure professional college which get their students ready for the industry they want to get into.

Hostel Facilities

3

The boys hostel has only 100 seats for all three year students. Most of the students are day scholars. You may have to spend around 5-10k per person (sharing basis) in case you take an accommodation outside and you will find many suitable options. The college is in a good institutional area.

Alumni/Alumna

More of my friends were seniors in my 1st year of college. The seniors are helping but you need to call them sir and mam.

Exam Structure

Both practical and subjective. Everyday your half day classes are practical and other half is theory. The timings are 9 AM to 5 PM. Attendance is necessary and you have to maintain a minimum of 75℅ or else you are not eligible for any examination. Overall it's a hectic day where you usually get tired in practicals and exhausted in theory classes.

Admission

Through JEE scrore. IHM JEE- 2011 I got AIR-325 You need to clear JEE exam, post this you will be asked to fill your preferences online on their portal. They have 2-3 rounds of it and you will get a college based on your AIR, seat availability and choice preferences of college.

Faculty

4

The faculty is good. 80℅ of the faculty are highly reputed in the industry. The books for F&B subject which are being followed as syllabus across all IHMs in India are written by the faculty of this college. It's a very strict and disciplined institute, the teachers are quite tough to deal with and they will not let you slip by any rules even a single time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The core subjects are very well divided, the main problem arises with the other additional subjects which requires efforts as same as the other subject even though they don't hold any importance as such. Maybe reducing other subject or making them practical based instead of theory based would be helpful.

The placements of my college are moderate as the average package is ?6.5 lakhs and the highest package is around ?23.02 lakhs . Many prestigious companies like delloite, accenture have held various placement sessions in DRC and it's overall a good to place for companies to get high skilled students. The placement cell is very active too which makes it possible for our college to get many internships and placements opportunities.

The placements cell Avenues regarding the placement offers coming to the college. Major companies of the job market come to the campus for recruitment like KPMG, deloitte, zepto, EY, ZS Associates and many more. The students from the final year itself gets eligible for placements. Around 30-40% students get the palcements through the placement drive. The highest package during the last palcement season was around 18 to 20LPA, while the average was 7 to 8LPA. I will certainly go for higher studies in operational research.
