IHM Mumbai admission are usually based on NCHMCT JEE exam for BSc and MSc JEE for MSc program. The admission process for the BSc H&HA program is explained in the table below:

IHM Mumbai Campus & Facilities

Location: Located in the bustling neighborhood of Dadar, the heart of Mumbai, our college is easily accessible to students commuting from far off towns since Dadar is the only railway station common to both the Central and Western lines.
Computer Lab: Consists of 25 computers, connected on LAN to enable transfer between these terminals and the server which facilitates paperless assessments to take place.
Training Kitchen: All our training kitchens are equipped with the latest equipment needed to facilitate training for our students to be future chefs. We have three training kitchens in the institute.
Quantity Food Kitchen: This kitchen is used to train SEMESTER III / SEMESTER IV students in the Bsc. H&HA course. It mainly is used for bulk food production and services in the dining hall (students’ mess).
Individual Kitchen: This kitchen is used to train SEMESTER III / SEMESTER IV students in the BSc. H&HA course. It services the training restaurant, “Fusion” The Fusion: This formal fine dining restaurant can also sit approximately 100 pax for a meal. The individual training kitchen (ITK) provides for the menu to be served here.
The Graduate: This formal fine dining restaurant can sit approximately 100 pax for a meal. The advanced training kitchen provides for the menu to be served here.
Library: The institute also has a library of more than 5000 hospitality books and various journals and magazines which the students can refer to for the purpose of the study.

IHM Mumbai Hostel

Rooms with a view - The sea as far as the eye can see! Natural light, fresh sea breeze, clear view of the Bandra-Worli Sealink and the Mumbai skyline - Bandstand on the right and Worli sea face on the left- all from a hostel room! What better way to start a day - A walk on the Dadar Chowpatty or a jog around the vast Shivaji Park - a few steps away!

Both the girl's and boys' hostels are located on campus. Our boys’ hostel boasts of 45 well-furnished rooms which are usually given out on a triple sharing basis. The girls' hostel consists of 20 spacious rooms which are also given out on a triple sharing basis. We also have an NRI hostel for girls of 9 rooms for those who are admitted from the NRI quota. Rooms come equipped with a kitchenette.

The faculty here is excellent and always cooperative towards any query raised by the students
The food production lab in college is quite big and the products made here is very good and the plating looks like 5 star restaurants

Dislikes

The college infrastructure us really old and they are not updating inspite of the students being here in so much
The college dosent have air conditioned room so its really difficult for continuing class
There is no ground to play sporting and space for doing cultural fest in the college

Various subjects being covered in the course

The course helps us with four basic core subjects like food production , food and beverage , front office operation and , Rooms division and two extra ciricular subjects per semesster , the food among all these is vast as it contains the most vital part of the industry though the syllabus is very vast and interesting , the goverment should enroll more practical classes for the students as the class hours for the theory is more where as the industry give more importance to the practical knowledge acquired by the students , The exam schedule is great and the follow same sequence every year but the gap for study in between the in exams is very frequent or no.

Internship opportunities provided by the college

The college has to offer a great placement record which is one of the best in india with around 300-400 companies visiting every year in india and also there is good scope you can be hired by the goverment companies . The starting salary from the this is indistry is very low to make out your cost in mumbai but eventually you will have the time of your life if uou can migrate out india and earn a lot more depening on the section you choose and it has to offer job like of your choice the interviews are taken on certain aptitude tests which involes mostly mechanological and abstract test , a round of group discussion in your college and one evaluation day in the host property.

Placement scenario in the campus and packages being offered

The students will have the option of many interviews like around 300-400 comming in around to scout students from ihm mumbai and you the interviews typically starts from 5th sem and you get your job before your exams. One can also opt for oberio ocld from nariman point Mumbai which is a great place for innovating yourself and turn in to a master of the industry if you have passion the package you can start around in 5 to 6 lakhs per annum to 2-3 lakhs per annum and around 10 lakhs to 8 lakhs in outside the industry. My future plans is to do masters form Mumbai and as i am from Maharashtra it really convients and the mingrate to forieng.

What is the total fees of the course?

The tution fees is little bit higher as compared to the other states but it's acceptable compared to private college like IIHM etc, where the tution fees is much higher and if migrate for you studies in other states then it will cost you around 15 lakhs in India whereas in ihm you can get a better reputable degree in aorund 7-8 lakhs . You can collect the form of schilarship from the reception counter and submit the form and it would take you around 1-2 years to be verified . If you can also do part time odc both officially and unofficially in mumbai and earn around 15k per month while studying.they shoukd try to increase the duration of training in gov ihm to 6 months so tht they can easily do forieng interhsips.

College events, various clubs and facilities available in campus

The college in mumbai you wikl have great fun a lot of activies and fests through out the year the celeberstion like Ganpati , Onam , Cornocoupia etc , shivaji day , and lot more through out the year . Though the infrastructure and the the college have not been updated and moderated yet by the collge like other IHM but the the are currently working on it as this college is the oldest college in india 1954 and is the first ihm in india. But there is not involvment of the students in sports and extracurricular activities in sporting but indoor games tournaments gooes on around interschool and intercollege with around some famous sports like cricket and football once a year.

Students view on faculties

As the students are so much the intercation between teachers and students are gery less compared to while we were studying school , and also their teaching style is very short and to the point not much extra knowledge is given , but clsses like food production and food and beverage the teachers are so experienced and the litterally have knowledge which is very extensive and they provide in details . The teachers are very experienced and well educated but there are some practices doine by the faculty that they are moving tecahers of the base depertamemt to other section which is difficult for eveyone to cope up with though everyone tries hard to make the students concept clear.

Eligibility criteria to get admission in the college

The eligibilty to the course is having a good nchm score if you are from general category , the reservation rank for Obc category starts around 1000 in round 1 and the application can be submitted online from nchm website the exam is around mid may and this year it 11th may so good luck guys , the difficult level is moderate and you can easily score below 500 if you practice and not study one month say atleast 1 hour each day and thats it you will strat a new carrier in your life ahead .the life here in mumbai is poplated but fancy in mumbai so if you want be excel in you carrer from mumbai you should only expect in food and beverage and food production.

Admission:

I joined this college as it was in the top 5 list of hospitality colleges in India . I am currently in ihm Mumbai, I wanted to get in pusa but I couldn't as I belong to general cast . Even though there were alot of seats empty in pusa but they all went to waste as they were reserved seats . I think it's a pretty good college compared to other hotel management colleges like the private ones

There is a smoking area which sometimes irritates.asaur quality is disturbed and it's pollutes whole area and ciggerate butt are not removed n kept the way they are

It's bsc course for which you will need to have a qualification of 10+2 and minimum percentage of 60% and there is entrance exam in which you need to have atleast AIR500 and below and the application was online on the official website

Admission:

The admission to anu IHM in the country is on the basis of entrance exam called the NCHMCT-JEE (National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology - Joint Entrance Exam) The admission is on the merit basis and all the rules of reservation apply here too. I scored AIR 176 in the JEE and l belong to the General category. I had all the options open including IHM Pusa but I opted for Mumbai because I've always wanted to experience the life of this city. After all 'No city is better in terms of exposure than Mumbai!'

Institute of hotel management Mumbai is one of the top college in india and was the first college in the entire South Asia. Admission process is not to difficult like MBA colleges there is a common site which inform us about cap rounds and they do send a mail as well to confirm our admission in the college.

You have to apply for NCHMCT exam after which you will get your rank after giving the exam then from that rank all the colleges will get there cut offs And you can apply according to your rank ther are 3 or 4 rounds of this counselling thing then to secure your spot you have to pay a reservation amount which later get deducted from you fees Then you have to visit college then sumit your documents and pay the remaining fees

College placements are really very nice and location tooo
The view from the college terrace is amazing

Dislikes

So much crowd near the college and building
College timings are sometimes unfavorable

The eiligibilty of BSc in H & HA course is 12th passed from any stream and clear the entrance exam of the college scheduled by NCHM Yrs there is a reservation benefits also for OBC and Sc/ST caste Difficulty level of exam is moderate level

Admission:

The admission process was similar to any other govt institution, a joint common entrance test. The NCHM-JEE is a test conducted by the national council to examine and analyse students from all over India if they are capable to see what it takes. Getting a rank suffices students to grant admission into colleges with IHM Mumbai being one of the top institutions havibg a cutoff of close to AIR 300

Likes

The college fest is a food fantasy, starting from the prep days till the last day of the fest.. Its a food heaven.
Participating in the extracurricular activities gets u so much confidence as a student organizer

Dislikes

The infrastructure is a little old, but they are developing it

Admission:

You have to apply for NCHM JEE and score atleast in the top 800 to have the college as a general category person... There are reservations available on casts and minority though, also they have a fees concession for the people with NPL. There is one unit test every semester and one final exam. And there are 6 semesters in total. The admission process is quite easy.

College has scholarship facilities. And also make us participate in extra curricular activities.
Celebrates most of the cultural events traditionally.

Dislikes

The gate closes at 9 am so after that you cannot enter the college except the lunch time.

Admission:

IHM Mumbai is a government college so you have to give exams for the Government colleges I gave NCHMCT JEE entrance exam and you have to score good rankings to get into this college if you are not into the cast quota and the ranking system slightly changes every year. Till my batch the university which was handling the college was IGNOU now JNOU is handling it so there are some changes in admission process and study system as well. There are exams take place in every 3 month so there are midterm's and final exams for every semester there are total 6 semesters in 3 years.

Unfortunately, IHM Mumbai doesn’t offer 2nd-year lateral entry admission to Hotel Management. For admission, you need to appear NCHMCT JEE and your selection will be directly to 1^st year.
