Good teachers in this college with great knowledge and experience
Exposure to different fields of this industry

Dislikes

Poor quality of college building . Ceilings are breaking and failing
Very small campus . My school's playground was bigger than this campus
No teachers for sports . Less encouragement towards tk sports activities here

Admission:

I joined this college as it was in the top 5 list of hospitality colleges in India . I am currently in ihm Mumbai, I wanted to get in pusa but I couldn't as I belong to general cast . Even though there were alot of seats empty in pusa but they all went to waste as they were reserved seats . I think it's a pretty good college compared to other hotel management colleges like the private ones

Life of an IHM student

Likes

That we can cook and do whatever you want ....they treat us as adults
There is freedom in the College there is no specific restrictions ....I feel itsbest as you get the freedom as adult
College professors are cool and they treat you as adults

Dislikes

There is a smoking area which sometimes irritates.asaur quality is disturbed and it's pollutes whole area and ciggerate butt are not removed n kept the way they are
Comparative less cleanliness in the mess kitchen
There are less holidays as it works on central government

Admission:

It's bsc course for which you will need to have a qualification of 10+2 and minimum percentage of 60% and there is entrance exam in which you need to have atleast AIR500 and below and the application was online on the official website

IHM Mumbai - one of the best colleges to launch your dream of being a hospitality professional!

Likes

Good reputation that helps you diring the campus placement
Well-equipped with all the necessary labs for practical
As the college is situated in Mumbai, there's a good exposure in terms of industry visits, internships, etc.

Dislikes

The college campus could be a bit bigger
Very minimum attention given to outdoor sports
The curriculum can be revised to suit the rapid changes in the industry standards

Admission:

The admission to anu IHM in the country is on the basis of entrance exam called the NCHMCT-JEE (National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology - Joint Entrance Exam) The admission is on the merit basis and all the rules of reservation apply here too. I scored AIR 176 in the JEE and l belong to the General category. I had all the options open including IHM Pusa but I opted for Mumbai because I've always wanted to experience the life of this city. After all 'No city is better in terms of exposure than Mumbai!'

I liked faculty of the college they are very nice
I like campus also although it is medium but good
Locality of the college is very nice and good

Dislikes

The classes are small for every one we need extra space

Admission:

I was aiming for this college only because it's ihm Mumbai top colleges in India for hotel management and have a brand value many big big hotels want employees from this college. I have not face any rejection from any college

Faculty is very good with students. They are very helpful and supportive for the students
Professor are well experienced and skilled in their respective department
They are very supportive for new ideas and innovation

Dislikes

College campus is little bit small compared. to other campus
College building need to be renovate and coloured.
Infrastructure and amenities should be improved

Admission:

Institute of hotel management Mumbai is one of the top college in india and was the first college in the entire South Asia. Admission process is not to difficult like MBA colleges there is a common site which inform us about cap rounds and they do send a mail as well to confirm our admission in the college.

This college comes under top 5 ihm in india
Faculty is very good and supportive towards students

Dislikes

First year does not get hostel and for second and third year seats are very limited

Admission:

You have to apply for NCHMCT exam after which you will get your rank after giving the exam then from that rank all the colleges will get there cut offs And you can apply according to your rank ther are 3 or 4 rounds of this counselling thing then to secure your spot you have to pay a reservation amount which later get deducted from you fees Then you have to visit college then sumit your documents and pay the remaining fees

My college Life story

Likes

College infrastructure, classes, labs etc
The view from the college terrace is amazing
College placements are really very nice and location tooo

Dislikes

College timings are sometimes unfavorable
So much crowd near the college and building
Distance from my hostel is about 8km and it takes almost 40 minutes

Admission:

The eiligibilty of BSc in H & HA course is 12th passed from any stream and clear the entrance exam of the college scheduled by NCHM Yrs there is a reservation benefits also for OBC and Sc/ST caste Difficulty level of exam is moderate level

The courses and curriculum was not ordinary
The internship opportunities given were good

The campus could be better in terms of infrastructure

Admission:

The admission process was similar to any other govt institution, a joint common entrance test. The NCHM-JEE is a test conducted by the national council to examine and analyse students from all over India if they are capable to see what it takes. Getting a rank suffices students to grant admission into colleges with IHM Mumbai being one of the top institutions havibg a cutoff of close to AIR 300

If u are looking for a college to be in hospitality industry, this is it

Likes

The college is great as it goes lengths to make different resources available for the students just to teach them about those.
The college fest is a food fantasy, starting from the prep days till the last day of the fest.. Its a food heaven.
The faculty is expressing and experienced and makes sure to keep up with the students and the current hospitality industry

Dislikes

The infrastructure is a little old, but they are developing it
Exams can be a little difficult, but not as much

Admission:

You have to apply for NCHM JEE and score atleast in the top 800 to have the college as a general category person... There are reservations available on casts and minority though, also they have a fees concession for the people with NPL. There is one unit test every semester and one final exam. And there are 6 semesters in total. The admission process is quite easy.

Likes

Good faculty and teaching system. Guide us every time we need.
Celebrates most of the cultural events traditionally.
College has scholarship facilities. And also make us participate in extra curricular activities.

Dislikes

Fees has been increased from 2023 batch of first year.
The gate closes at 9 am so after that you cannot enter the college except the lunch time.
Good faculties are leaving the college. Only few of them are remaining.

Admission:

IHM Mumbai is a government college so you have to give exams for the Government colleges I gave NCHMCT JEE entrance exam and you have to score good rankings to get into this college if you are not into the cast quota and the ranking system slightly changes every year. Till my batch the university which was handling the college was IGNOU now JNOU is handling it so there are some changes in admission process and study system as well. There are exams take place in every 3 month so there are midterm's and final exams for every semester there are total 6 semesters in 3 years.
