Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is diverse and rigorous. The first year allows for exploring various domains where the highly qualified faculty trains and guides the students through the lessons. The second year focuses on specialisation and students can choose their subjects from a basket of courses. There are regular assessments of the students that keep them on their toes and continuous evaluation is done.
Internships Opportunities
Various roles are offered by companies spanning all sectors and industries to the students of Rohtak. The stipend offered depends upon the company and the roles they offer. The internship is for around 2 months after the first year.
Placement Experience
The placements are good at IIM Rohtak. For the first years, the companies start coming in right from the first term for their Summer Internship Programmes and for the final years, the companies come in from the fourth term for the Final Placements. Diverse roles are offered to the students and companies from various industries set afoot on the campus. The college secures 100% placements every year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for each 3-month term are taken before the beginning of the said term and student loans are readily available from all leading public and private banks of the country at very affordable rates of interest. Campus placements are decent with 100% placement across all years so far.
Campus Life
The Campus Life is one of the best experiences in the college. The hostels are separate for each gender and students are free to roam about the campus at any time of the day. There are various clubs and committees to make campus life more engaging. Sports activities are a regular affair in the college and witness huge participation. The classrooms are air-conditioned and have audio-visual facilities. The state-of-the-art library is fully occupied throughout the year and stays open till late at night.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are separate for each gender and the rooms are spacious with double occupancy in each room with attached washrooms. Air conditioners are provided in each room and there's a common balcony and common area for each flat(4 rooms). Mess facility is available for the students and it caters to all the students with decent quality meals - breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner, serving both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. They also provide special meals during festival weeks/days like Navratri, Ramadan, Holi, etc.
Admission
The admission process for IIM Rohtak involves the following steps: Eligibility criteria - A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university. Additionally, you need to have a valid CAT score. Shortlisting Personal Interview - You will be shortlisted for the PI round if you meet the selection criteria, which vary from year to year. The faculty of the college are the panel members who interview you and would assess your communication skills, knowledge, personality and suitability for the program. Once the interview rounds are over, the college would come out with a list of selected students for the programme. You might get waitlisted which would keep moving in intervals.
Interview Experience
There was a Personal Interview round for the admission. I had prepared for it by being thorough with my CV, work experience and the subjects I had learnt in my undergraduate college. My regular newspaper reading habit was a bonus for me and I could relate theoretical knowledge with current affairs.
