Remarks

I will miss the college labs and the faculties who really helped me to build my carrier.

Entrance Preview

Ojee was the entrance exam which I appeared and my rank was 3000 and I choose Information technology because from my school life only I was very fond of coding and I wanted to make something with coding

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Ya it was good enough and it made to think about new technologies like AI, machine learning and all as institute used to focus on research projects now for electives they have included data mining and all which is really good and even cryptography for security purpose so overall the electives were such like it will take you from basic till advance technology

Internships Opportunities

Yes college provide internship but don't know about stipend but as per the students review the internship projects are really good and they said like it really helped them to build their carrier and even it helped to set their goals.

Placement Experience

4

Placement wise it's good as its strength is very less around 200 so the companies which visited our college is Dell, Samsung, IBM Infosys, E&Y, incture, ITC, direct I , and many more companies you can visit our college website for the complete list of companies iiit-bh.ac.in so the AVG package is around 5 as I myself is placed in dell and dells package is 8 lakhs so the placement percent is good if you see among the eligible students all are placed among the eligible students

College Events

4

From technical point of view they are organizing coding events which are global anyone can participate and hackathon and even they conduct workshops on new technologies and for cultural they call different celebrities for pro nights and even they conduct open dance and band competition for all the participants from different zones and we celebrate all the events like Diwali, holi etc so we celebrate with music and all

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible as now for IIT and NIT it is same so it's feasible it's 1.4 lakh with accommodation per annum and only tuition was 1 lakh per annum and rest was for accommodation and all so based on present fee structure of different colleges 1.4 lakh is ok

Fees and Financial Aid

Ya college gives TFW scholarship in which the complete tuition few will be paid by the college, and even they provide scholarship for top three students of each branch for every year

Campus Life

5

Ya extra curricular activities were also good we have robotics club and I myself was part of that and I have won in 5 different colleges including IIT's and sports club also we have which organised all sports like cricket basketballbadminton football and volleyball tennis and many other games which used to make everyone to participate in those

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel was really good as it was 8 storer building with lift and even we were provided with washing machine and WiFi and even rooms were spacious hostel had common room with TV and TT badminton court lawn tennis basket ball court everything. And mess food was good if you see with the price as the breakfast cost was 10 rupees and they used to give unlimited breakfast like noodles ,puri bread toast and many other and for lunch and dinner the cost was 25 rupees so if you see with that cost mess food was good

Alumni/Alumna

Ya I learned a lot from my seniors about how to live our life when we enter into corporate world and what all things we need to do to grow ourselves and one thing I learned is that we should enjoy the present moment where we are rather then thinking to enjoy in future as no one has seen future it may be good may be bad

Admission

After ranks were out we got option to choose different colleges in the option so I selected IIIT Bhubaneswar as my first priority and that too IT along with I chooses some other colleges too so based on my rank in the first round only I got selected in the college and that too for IT

Faculty

3

Faculty for the research based were really good they used to make us think out of the box even we used to get freedom to implement our ideas and for normal subjects faculties were ok just to have a basic knowledge on the subject but not for research purpose

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
