Remarks

Mangement is very good and understanding and understand that a student can develop only through a decent amount of freedom.

Entrance Preview

BITSAT, I scored 350/450 , Ranked no.1 Private institution in India. Offers freedom to students with no attendance requirement policy and with liberal rules giving students full responsibility and freedom to spend their time how they feel is of benefit to them.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course structure is very liberal as the student has to pick his courses and also the time slots for them. Each time slot has an alloted teacher hence we also get to chose the lecturer we desire. There is a vast choice of disciplinary and humanity electives giving the student to pursue topics of interest even if they dont concern engineering directly.

Internships Opportunities

Yes. I am unsure as I have only finished one semester in the institute. But as of what ive heard some seniors have had internships at Intel,IISc and IIM.

Placement Experience

5

Placements are very high for most students studying Computer Science with 2015s highest being 1.44 Crore per annum. Other branches the top students get placed highly whereas an average student for around 8-9 lpa. Most students are placed abroad and a very large number pursue higher education and research. Some companies Im aware of are Intel, Google, Facebook, Schlumberger, PayPal etc.

College Events

5

Our Cultural fest is Oasis which is one of the best fests in the country and have participants from all over the country. Its very big and has had many big names over the years. Our techfest is called APOGEE. I have not yet witnessed it and wouldnt be accurate if i reviewed it. We also have a sports fest called BOSM which is also a big event.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its decently expensive because its a private college. And considering I live in Karnataka and college is near Delhi travel also is a considerable cost. Mess fee is 10000Rs, Hostel is rs9000 Tution fee is Rs113000 and external expenses which can be made using barcode on ID card on average is around 25000. All above figures are for one semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not offered but there are 2 which im aware of. Merit cum scholarship covers 10% if your family income is below a particular level. 10% students eligible get this. Then theres merit. If you are in top 1% you get a large part of your fee covered.

Campus Life

4

The gender ratio is around 9:2 fro every 9 guys there are 2 girls. Most parties are during Oasis or after elections for president. Random parties are relatively rare. Workshops are well equipped and updated to my knowledge.Cultural societies , Clubs, Departments are in the fabric of the institute. It makes the college stand out. Everyone is considered equal when they arrive. A reputation should be built on campus.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities are very good. Best way to describe the mess would be Manageable as Im not much of a fan of the mess food.I personally avoid going at all and prefer eating outside. First year sharing is compulsary. Everyone has a roommate. Second year onwards most people have single rooms but some have roommates. Since Pilani is a village PG is not available and we live on campus hostel itself.

Exam Structure

No. The exams were quite decently spaced out and give us enough time for most exams. We make our own daily routine so labs are spaced out on the basis of how you have selected it to be. Some people have very hectic days whereas some have it very spaced out. It all depends on how you have made your timetable. Exam dates are well spaced out for all.

Admission

The whole procedure was done online and there are three main iterations followed by a fourth and fifth one depending on seat availability. The top ranked students are alloted in their desired branch and campus and as many students back out in the second round the vacancies are filled up and this process repeats till all seats are full. Basic identification and documentation regarding proof for 12th examination and medical fitness is required during admission and every student is personally interviewed by the dean of admissions before completing the procedure for admission.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty I have come across as of now are very friendly and highly qualified. They teach in a very understandable manner and make sure they deliver what they want to in a manner that every student takes interest in the topic. Most of the lecturers are MIT graduates and PhD scholars and are highly well versed in their field.

Food is a vast subject and people will not stop eating, so the scope of food technology is just amazing. The college has its own faculty for different subjects. This btech course is of 4 years ie 8 semesters. Each semester has midterms and final semester exams. Last semester is for an internship. Midterms are of 20 marks, practical of 30 marks and final semester theory exams of 50 marks, so passing the exam is damn easy. Regular classes with good faculties make this course easy.
