Remarks

There is nothing to complain about the college management. It has been encouraging of student activities and listen to issues raised by students.

Entrance Preview

Admission to RVCE happens in 3 different channels: 1. CET: This exam is available for residents to Karnataka only, and ~50% seats are reserved by the Government for this. This is the cheapest way of getting in and usually costs only a third of other channels. 2. COMEDK: This exam is available for all residents of India and also has seats reserved for it. 3. Management seats: There are few seats given under Management Quota. I got in through CET, I scored 135 on it. I chose RVCE because it is one of the best colleges for Engineering and is consistently ranked in top 3 in Karnataka.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is well designed and is in tune industry requirements. The curriculum is remade every few years to ensure adapting to ever changing needs. I studied under 2012 (2014 batch) scheme while a new one was made for 2016 batch. Research is encouraged and good amount of research happens in few branches.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, some internships are given out by companies visiting the colleges. Stipend and other specifics are entirely dependent on the company. Stipend varies from anything around 20,000 to 80,000.

Placement Experience

5

Placement is one of the things RVCE is known for and probably is best compared any other college. Well above 150 companies come for hiring and many provide exceedingly well remuneration. Some high-paying companies which come to mind are- 1. Adobe System - 39.2 LPA 2. Uber - 36 LPA 3. Microsoft - 22.3 LPA 4. Goldman Sachs - 22 LPA 5. Myntra - 23 LPA 6. Razorpay -22 LPA 7. Tapzo -22 LPA 8. Walmart Labs - 18.5 LPA 9 . Amazon - 15 LPA 10. Cisco - 13 LPA 11. Catamaran Ventures - 13 LPA etc.

College Events

4.5

Many events are held throughout the year - E-cell organised a management related event every year. 8th mile, the college fest is also held in a grand manner with a lot of attendees from various colleges. It has a lot of cultural and technical events held as part of it. Under The Pee pal Tree, a major quizzing event in India is also held along 8th mile. Kannada Sangha also celebrates Kannada Rajyothsava every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure is very reasonable for CET students as there is a Government fund which covers a good part of the fees. Students admitted through COMEDK have to pay a higher full fees (no Government funding here). Even with that, the fees are reasonable and in par with other colleges across India.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not availed any scholarships although many exist. Almost all of the scholarships are need-based. Notification regarding the same are put up in notice boards occasionally.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is good, RVCE boasts of a lush green campus with sprawling cricket and football grounds. There is a tennis court, indoor basketball court, shuttle-badminton court etc. Extracurricular are encouraged with various competitions held by various clubs in college. Lot of clubs related to these are active - 1. Student project clubs - Team Vyoma (highly acclaimed UAV & drone club), Team Ashwa (Award winning race car team), Garuda, Helios, Chimera etc. 2. Quizcorp - A quizzing cub for quizzing enthusiasts. 3. Debsoc - Debating society etc.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel facilities are far better than any other options (PG and Rooms for rent). As boys hostel is on campus, it is very beneficial for them to avail library and other facilities (sports complex, gym etc.) Food provided is decent and as there are no good options for stay outside college, there is a lot of competition for the hostel seats and seats are allocated based on merit (previous year GPA).

Alumni/Alumna

There is no much formal interaction between alumni and students but in my experience the alumni have been very helpful when contacted in person.

Exam Structure

Exam structure followed is pretty standard one. There are 3 internals out of which 2 best scoring are considered, one external and lab internal and external for few subjects. Internals are held with 2 subjects a day and externals with a single subject per day.

Admission

I was admitted through CET channel. The seat allocation was based on rank and preferences of the candidates and was handled by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). Once the seat was allocated by the KEA and once the the candidate locks the option (notifies that he/she satisfied with the allocation), a letter is generated and notification sent to the college. Candidates have to go with letter (in a stipulated amount of time) to the college and fill up the admission forms and pay the fees. The college administration is very helpful in this phase and guides in every step.

Faculty

4

Faculty in RVCE are very good, and many are passionate about their subject and their teachings. Some faculty are involved in research and some take up industry projects and involve students in it. Overall attitude of the faculty is encouraging and inquisitive.

lacements at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology Placements at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology are decent overall, with stronger outcomes for CS-related branches and moderate but reliable opportunities for core branches like Chemical Engineering. ???? Placement Eligibility Students generally become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester (final year). Some companies also allow pre-placement offers (PPOs) through internships after the 6th semester. ???? Companies Visiting the Campus ???? Common Recruiters (Across Branches) TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini IBM L&T Deloitte (limited roles) ???? Core / Chemical-Related Opportunities L&T Reliance (limited roles) Schneider Electric Saint-Gobain Some manufacturing, quality, and operations-based companies Core chemical companies visit in limited numbers, so many Chemical Engineering students also sit for IT, analytics, and operations roles. ???? Packages Offered (Approximate) ???? Salary Range Highest Package (overall): ~?40–50 LPA (off-campus / international offer, mostly CS) Highest for Core / Chemical roles: ~?8–10 LPA Average Package (overall): ?7–8 LPA Average for Chemical Engineering: ?4–6 LPA ???? Job Profiles Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Process / Quality Engineer Analyst / Consultant Software Engineer (for interested students) ???? Placement Percentage Overall placement rate: ~90–95% Chemical Engineering: ~60–70% Students with good CGPA, internships, and skills tend to get placed earlier and in better roles. ???? Employability & Skill Development The college provides: Placement training sessions Aptitude and soft-skill workshops Coding and interview preparation support However, students are expected to upskill on their own, especially for core industry roles or higher-paying profiles. ???? My Plans After Completing the Degree After completing my B.E. in Chemical Engineering, I plan to: Gain industry experience through campus placement or off-campus opportunities
