Course Curriculum Overview

4

I was mainly interested in accounts and business-related subjects, therefore chose this course. The faculty at DRC is quite good. They will help you in all the ways they can. DRC has all the opportunities but only if you are willing to learn. You have to grab the opportunities and be active in order to have the best of experiences. At DRC we had phd scholars and professors who had done their masters in commerce. Other than this some of the professors were associated with rbi and other financial institutions. We had a midterm which was 25 marks and end term exam (75 marks) in each semester. Since ours was a covid batch we gave only the 1st and the 6th semester offline exams. The rest were all online. But otherwise, obviously, the exams are held regularly. I would say it's easy to pass the exams, provided you refer to the 10 years and pay a bit of attention in the class as to what exactly to write in the exams. Also in the internals (25 marks) sometimes it's upon the teachers.

Internships Opportunities

1

There are not many internship opportunities available. The companies that come on campus for internships provide marketing roles which are not at par with what they show or say. They will make you do every sort of unnecessary act. Posting stories and liking and commenting on their posts, which obviously is of no use. But for B.Com Hons people there's a competition held by Deloitte in the first year itself. So you can take part in that competition and avail the internship opportunity at Deloitte in your 2nd year which in turn can help you get PPO after graduation.

Placement Experience

4

You can apply for placements in your 6th semester. I'll mention the name of the companies and the packages they offered in the bracket The companies that visited at our time were DeShaw(24 lpa), Deloitte (6 lpa), TresVista (6 lpa), and Accenture (6 lpa, and also had to tie up with XLRI). You can find the name of the companies on the Instagram handle (pcelldrc). The profiles that were offered were HR, CFO, Analyst, Graduate Trainee, Business Development Executive, Associate The highest package offered - was 24 lpa (this was not in hand). Only one person could get this. And she was from Eco Hons The average package offered is 5-6 lpa. 70% of the students get placed. Of the rest, 30% opt out and some do not get any placement. I had planned to pursue MBA after graduation therefore didn't take up the offer even after getting placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for our course were between 15.5k - 17k per year. I do not remember the exact figures. The college provided scholarship/subsidized fees but I can't provide much information on the same. As I never applied for the same. The highest placement that was provided on campus was 24lpa from DeShaw. This was not in hand obviously. It had many one-time pay subheads. Also, only one person could grab this placement. The average otherwise for our course was 6 lpa I was placed at L&T. The package was 4.25 lpa I didn't take it up as I had some other plans. But I would definitely advise you to take on the placements that you get in college. And if you can then try for off-campus as well. But the process is much easier on campus, so try your level best to convert the same.

Campus Life

4.5

We could just attend 8 months of offline college. 5 months before covid and 3 months after covid. We had our annual fest in the month of February. It was not that great. It's on the average side. Rest there are many other college society fests. Each society conducts there own fest/event in the month of Dec-March. There are many competitions that are held in these. It's based on which society is conducting the fest. To be a part of these societies you need to give an interview. (Placement Cell, Finance and Investment Cell, Entrepreneurship Cell, name it and you have a cell for that activity) You can get all the required books in the library. But since the course curriculum of commerce gets updated every now and then you won't find the latest versions There are no such extra amenities in the classrooms. It's very basic. Just the conference hall had ACs. DRC has the biggest hall in the North campus where Miss DRC is held. There's an annual sports day in which anyone can take part.

Admission

I had met the cut-off of various South campus colleges, but since I wanted to take admitted to North Campus, I waited for the fourth cut-off, and then I was granted admission to DRC, I couldn't make it to SRCC which was obviously my dream college but nonetheless as they say everything happens for a reason and I do believe that. I was granted admission to DRC only on the basis of marks and no other quota was applied. The admission criteria for B.Com(Hons) is - we must have studied Maths till class 12th and other than that there's no compulsion of subjects, for a better idea one should always refer to the manual as it might change with time. Minimum marks in 12th - 50% though I don't remember that exactly, as how does it even matter, for a general category The admission process is like this, after checking the cut-off list you rush to the college with all the required documents and then there they explain to you the further procedure.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Subjects like Law, Management, HRM and Economics really influence my choice for this course. The law and economics part was really something that garb my attention as well as excite me the most. It really helped in understanding HR policies in depth which helped me really world a lot. The curriculum should include more practical and technical subjects which will help in the corporate world too. The exam timings were usually 2 to 3 hours max. And the exam also doesn't come too hard to pass.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum of Janki Devi Memorial College is quiet relevant and covers the important areas of the subject in a structured way one of the reasons I preferred this course was it is designed according to Delhi University standards and the syllabus is recognise and useful for higher studies the combination of theory papers skill enhancement courses and internal assessment help in building clear understanding of the subject. The curriculum helps in writing resources and critical thinking skills which are useful not only in exams but also for future academic and professional work at the same time, I feel that adding move practical sessions, workshop, or more project based learning with me the course more engaging and closed to Real world applications. Exams are held in the form of internal assessment during semester and final University exam at the end.Exams schedule is manageable and the difficult level is moderate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course ciriculum for bcom is good and covers major aspects like accounts, business law, management, ethics. It help understand the basic concepts and useful for future studies Ciriculum is relevant but somtimes it feel more theory based rather than a practical aprroach. More practical exposure and skill based subjects can be added There might be some needed improvement in teaching as we learn account's and management it feels boring teacher can make it interesting if theu improve their methods Exam happens every 4 month after the end semester the timing of exam is good my 1st sem happened at the December whole month the difficult was not much high my account paper was difficult as it was more tricky but the difficult was managable

Placement Experience:

There is a placement cell within the colleges but numerous are not dynamic and those who are dynamic do not offer great arrangements. As it were Srcc , LSR or St. Stephens offer pleasant placements. Most colleges offer arrangements between 3 - 4 lacs but over said colleges can give you situations with normal 8 lacs. But, I would prescribe you to not go for placements but higher things because it will increment your information and assist you to advance in your work and do it effectively whereas doing work fair after graduation will not allow you to regard merely continuously needed in the corporate world.
