KIIT - A Journey Towards Academic Brilliance and Beyond

Computer Science was my passion since childhood and more since we got hands-on experience in programming at school. KIIT is a reputed college and provides good placement for this course plus this course is in huge demand. The faculty-to-student ratio is a bit high here at KIIT. For every 80 students, there is 1 teacher. The faculties are well educated and have completed graduation from reputed colleges. They are very friendly and will help you in every possible way. The teachers use ppts and notes to deliver the lecture. Exams and assignments are conducted strictly following the schedule and the paper quality is moderate to high. Thus we need to be attentive and follow the lectures.

Some companies that visited our college to provide internship opportunities are Trilogy Innovations for the SDE role giving a 1.5 Lakhs stipend per month. Other companies include Goldman Sachs, Dell Technology, Fico, and Adobe (Women Only). RTCamp visited PHP developers and gave a stipend of 40000 per month. Corridor Platforms came to offer 3 roles - Automation Tester, Data Science Engineer, and Developer.

From the 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. This year more than 3500 job offers were made by 300+ companies. Some famous companies that visited our campus are Amazon, Atlassian, TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, Qualcomm, Accenture, Salesforce, Samsung, Dell, DE Shaw, ITC Infotech, Deloitte, IBM, JP Morgan, etc. The highest CTC offered this year is 62 Lakhs by YugaByte Software Limited. The average package was 8 Lakhs which is around 20% higher than the previous year. Almost cent percent of students who were eligible for campus placement bagged a job. My plan after getting the degree is to do M.Tech from some reputed college.

The fees here at KIIT are divided into different parts. The institutional fee is 175000 per semester and the hostel fees vary from 28000 to 60000 per semester depending on the type of hostel opted. The mess fee is fixed at 22500 and there is some other cost like exam registration etc. KIIT also takes one-time money of 75000 for providing a laptop and blazer. The total cost to study at KIIT varies from 15 to 20 lakhs. There are many bank loans that can be availed to study here at KIIT and there are many scholarship awards. KIIT provides scholarships to the top 1000 rank holders in KIIT. They give 10000 rupees per month to the students. There are also stipends for securing top rank every year. I secured 3rd rank in the 3rd semester and received 5000 rupees per month for the next 6 months.

The annual tech fest of KIIT is known as the KIIT FEST and is very popular. Every year big artists from all around the country visit our campus to perform. There are also many tech workshops held and extracurricular activities and cultural night programs during the fest. KIIT FEST is generally held from December to February. The KIIT Central Library has world-renowned collection of journals and books. It has more than 100000+ books and 40000+ journals. The classrooms are modern and equipped with all the required amenities to serve the students. Classrooms have screens, projectors, air conditioners, and whiteboards. KIIT is well known for its sports facilities and many renowned superstars are alumni of KIIT. KIIT spends a lot to improve the sports infrastructure. KIIT MUN is a famous club here at KIIT and very well-known all across the globe. Other clubs include Kaliope (Anchoring), Kreative Eye (Photography), and KFS (Film Society).

The eligibility is based on KIITEE rank and minimum class 12 boards result. I heard about the application form from my seniors and found it on the official website of KIIT. The application is free of cost thus any student can fill out the form and write the entrance exam for free. The admission process is very smooth and the results are declared within 1 week time.
