Course Curriculum Overview
The only reason for choosing this course is because this will help me to serve the people who need medical aid. The faculty members here are such a blessing. They not only teach the subjects but also help us to build the proper mindset ethically needed to treat patients with care and empathy. Each one of the faculty members is highly qualified and inspires the students a lot. Our college is very particular about examinations. There will be monthly exams which ultimately help us give the final MB exams with ease. It is quite difficult to pass as our passing percentage is 50% and above. But this course is so interesting and this helps one to pass the exams.
Internships Opportunities
The internship is to be done in the college one has done the course. Stipend is around 28k-32k Or more. But one has to work day and night to earn that. Maybe for 24 hours or more in a stretch at once. But this is a great way to learn practically. This basically helps in cracking the difficult PG Entrance Exam.
Fees and Financial Aid
During admission, you need to pay Rs. 8500/- breakup of this is:- Caution- Rs. 3000/- Tuition fee for six months- Rs. 4500/- Admission- Rs. 1000/- There are many scholarships available like SVMCM, a merit-based scholarship. During the internship, one gets a stipend of around 32k/per month
Campus Life
College life is full of fun activities, and you will never get bored, like something or the other keeps on happening. We have Annual Fest called KAIZMA held in September which is 5-6 days of enjoyment and fun and much more. We have a huge library which is divided into two sections, one is on the ground floor(24*7 open) and the other is on the first floor. Almost all kinds of books are available. Our classrooms are well-equipped with large projectors, whiteboards, ACs, etc. Also, we have football and cricket tournaments and many such extracurricular activities occurring every now and then on the campus grounds. Many clubs are also available like... Dance, music, cultural magazines, drama, photography, painting etc.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms are of two kinds, (very few) three-sitter and two-sitter. One will get a chair, a table, an almirah and a single bed sufficient for one person. Mess food is quite ok but may not have a large menu though. The registration process is simple. Just need to fill up the forms and verify them with the identification documents. Only Rs. 100 per month which is affordable. If anyone wants to take a rented room Or PG it's easily available since the area around our college there are plenty of such places for the students in A1 block, A2 block, B block etc.
Admission
I had to give NEET which is an all India based entrance examination organized on a large scale across the country by NTA To be eligible to give the test one has to have above 50 percent marks in class 12. If one score above the cut-off marks which is different for different states, then one gets the chance to get admission to the preferred medical college. Like in my state West Bengal, I had scored 592 with a rank of 22260 (EWS reservation) and hence got admission to JNM medical college in Kalyani. Once you get the cut-off marks. you will be guided by the WBMCC website for the counselling process and you get the admission letter at the end of the process and report to the college physically, in person, for admission. After document verification, you will be getting the papers stating that you are officially a student of that college. The process is time-consuming but needs to be done with patience and care and the seniors and other officials present will help with that.
