Course Curriculum Overview

4

The cirriculum is inclined on the theory part with clinical exposure beginning during final year and internship. The hospital is packed day and night with patients so learning could be a bit difficult and exhaustive. Exams are adequate and do help in retention of knowledge. Rest everything depends on the students of what they wanna make of themselves. Exams includeboth theory and practicals. Supplementary exams for when you fail. There are personal WhatsApp groups of every subject where students can interact with the faculty members and solve their questions.

Internships Opportunities

5

Internship here means doing a mandatory one year service at the college hospital in the various departments. Payment is 28000/- per month approximately. Based on academic distinctions you could be offered a year of house staffship. No recruiters here. NEET PG and then post graduation is the way to go.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure: per year= rs 1500 x 3 semesters = rs 4500 Hostel= rs 100 x 6 months= rs 600 Total = rs 5100 per year College caution fees= rs 3000/- (refundable) A number of state sponsored scholarships present for state quota students based on their merit and economic background.Like Aikhyashree scholarship.

Campus Life

4

Education wise, this place has it all- books, classrooms with projectors, lecture rooms, labs, library. But any thing other than that is non existent. The RG Kar shook every college to its core with the dissolution of every student club. Also no fests, no sports group, no co curricular activity. Probably will take a long to return back to normal. Students are divided in all matters. Lots of political influence active here. Library is accessible via the library card and every major needed. Campus life is dull AF. Depends on how you wanna spend your time.

Hostel Facilities

5

Study table, chair, closet, bed, mattress are provided by the hostel. 2000/- is the hostel fees which is refundable. 100/- per month is the fees. Two people per room for the first and second years. Then a single room per person until internship. Menu is what the canteen decides. Rice, roti, paratha, chicken, fish, egg, curries, samosas, tea, snacks, etc is available. Plus there's many shops and shacks around the campus with a variety of food. Food is cheap and somewhat hygienic. Hygiene can be a concern sometimes. But Hostel food is recommended in the long run.

Admission

Admissions are according to the state health university portal after filling out choices as per your choice. Kolkata colleges get the highest cutoff each year. Choice filling is according to the AIR list and a number of factors. I chose this college because it's closeness to Kolkata. And I couldn't get the ones in Kolkata because of hogh cutoff. Admission was easy and without any hassle. Just be sure to bring the mentioned documents with you on the admission day to avoid hassle during documents verification. NEET is the qualifying exam. My college has the second largest campus area in all state colleges.

Faculty

5

First year has three semesters, second year has three semesters, third year has two semesters, final year has two semesters. First year has three subjects, second year has three subjects, third year has two subjects, final year has six subjects. Registration cost for each subject for the final exams is 600/- each. There's no good and bad department in our course, all have equal weightage. Passing them is all is mandatory, no electives. Internship is hectic but very educational. Curiosity is the key. Everything goes according to the NMC syllabus. Semesters are subject to the university's timetable. Exams are held standardly after the RG Kar fiasco. Faculties are the best in class( they're practising physicians and surgeons and professors). 2021-2023 batches might face difficulty in the final year due to huge subject load and exams plus there's also a possibility of the NeXT exam.

Night Life

4

There are cafés and restaurants at walkable distances from the campus. Plus good connectivity on zomato and swiggy. Food is cheap and tasty. But there's no hangout places as such. For that you will have to go Kolkata. Kalyani is a pretty boring place. Girls are not allowed after 11 pm and there's no such restrictions on boys. No gym in the campus. Library clises at 8pm. OPD closes at 2-3 pm. Biriyani is a staple here. There's also Dominoes, KFC, Karim's, Baskin Robbins, and Natural's ice cream. Two cinema halls. A number of family friendly parks here. And Mayapur ISCKON temple is nearby as well. Night life is dull and boring. For that you need to travel to Kolkata.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, mbbs is very hard and long term process. You will be bored in 1st year because you cant get real clinical cases. But in Final year, 3rd Prof Part 2, you will get huge pressure. Because there are total 11 subjects, you should study in final year. It is a great burden for all. I'm not satisfied with Nmc curriculum. They are not thinking about students. They are implement their rules in chilled ac room. But they don't know the real scenarios.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very noble. It gives us the power to heal others. When I was a child, i was impressed by the ability and skills of a doctor. The patient family were treating him like god. So i decided to pursue it because of the amount of respect and wealth we gain. In the real world it helps us to become a good person, interact with the injured society and connect to the people emotionally. Teaching methods could be improved by giving more and more real life examples and exposing to the wards and clinics. Learning is more fun when we do more practicals. The college must ensure that more and more practical classes and clinical exposure is given to the students so that they can learn effeciently. The cases of the cirriculum should be given to the students to look how they handle it.

The concept of education is misunderstood my many students. Students want to study in order to make money and become rich so that they can fulfill their wants. Similarly money is invested by parents in terms of the amount of investment it will reap in the future. Because of this reason females are not given much higher education in our country.
