Course Curriculum Overview

4

Mechanical branch faculty are intelligent and supportive. All faculty are iit phd scholars. They use every means to provide knowledge. The mechanical branch in nit jalandhar is one of the highest demanded branches that compete with cse and ece. In my batch, we have 120 students out of which 20 are girls so the ratio is 1:5 which is impressive. In my college, we have 2 mi or exams every 20 marks main role to decide your grade and 50 marks for major exams and 10 marks for assessment per semester.

Placement Experience

4

The placements of Nit Jalandhar are very good. Companies offer students right from the second year mainly for cse/ece branch and from the third year for other branches' internships and the majority get the PPO(Pre-Placement Offer). Right from before starting the 7th sem companies offer the job. For the mechanical branch, nit jalandhar is quite famous. Every batch gets 80%+ students placed and the rest do prepare for abroad mtech or other options. Till now in February, my car is placed 80%+ students. Companies like Honda 2 wheeler, honda cars, maruti suzuki, Suzuki motors, ashok leyland, Oceaneering, BPCL, Reliance, HMEL, Aarti, Ciarn Oil, BEL, Techniq, Flipkart, etc many more companies. The highest Package is 17.5Lpa by Bpcl and the Average is around 8 LPA. Many students plan to get a job for industry experience and then majorly prepare gate or go abroad for a master's.

Fees and Financial Aid

College fee is decided according to your family income and category. For sc/st and gen/obc have income less than 1 lac have a 22000rs fee, gen/obc between 1-5 lac income have 48000rs and above 5 lac 88500rs fee. The earlier fee used to be much less my senior of 2018 pass out used to pay 30000incomea over 5 lac. The college provides a lot of scholarships and also supports states scholarship. Also, education loan is available and the mechanical branch has a 100 % placement record with an average of 8 lac.

Campus Life

4

College is so good. Here all branches have their technical clubs. Students majorly join them to make projects and improve technical skills. Apart from that many dancing, singing etc groups are there. Nit Jalandhar has one of the biggest technical feet in north India techniti which has a technical exhibitions, robot war, drone challenges, etc in day and edm,dj nights fashion show, star night etc at night to enjoy and one cultural fest Utkansh which has all majorly singing dance skirts, drama etc to make student enjoy. The college has separate grounds for all sports and an indoor wooden floor for badminton. Books are available for students in the library and online portal for any time any place availability of books

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are decent enough. Meals are also good. Students themselves decide the menu. Each year hostel will change so you get involved in different culture students. Basic facilities provided are a bed, table, chair wifi/Lan, almirah, etc. And many other facilities like tv rooms, library with ac, sports room, volleyball court, badminton court, gym etc. Mess staff are friendly, and can cook according to you if you are ill. The registration process is quite long and time-consuming. Every time you change hostel or every semester registration and hostel fee you need to sign no due. Rooms are majorly available for BTech. Hostels are not fully allocated to M.tech and PhD students. Since Nit Jalandhar is quite far from the city so PG are not easily available nearby.

Admission

To get into any Nit, one should have a minimum of 75% marks for GEN/OBC AND 60% for SC/ST in the 12th class. One need to qualify the Jee main paper available at jee mains .nta.nic.in site. After an exam and attaining a good number according to your rank, one gets the choice to fill the choice of their branches like cse, ece etc and josaa counselling decided to allot you the branch. After all that you need to visit campus to verify all documents. Verification of documents can be done online to get ease to students from different states.

Course Curriculum Overview:

From the begning i was always into tech and computers i liked to make my school persentation on my pc and that's the main reason for taking the stream CSE . The curriculum makes you ready for thr real world application by providing classes for eveything that a student is facing problem. If you ask me for the suggestion then some teachers should change their tecahing methods so that they will help the student in a better way . The frequency and timing of the exam goes like the college conducts two internal exams for the internal marks known as MST and one final exam and the difficulty level is medium

In LPU placement process usually start from 6th semester onwards. Many good companies come to campus like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, Amazon and few product based also. Some startups also visit. The no. of offers are quite large every year because batch size is big. Highest package I heard was around 40 LPA but that is very rare, only 1-2 students get. Average package is around 5–6 LPA for CSE branch. For other branches it is little bit low. Almost 80-85% students who are seriously preparing gets placement from college. College also provide placement training and soft skills classes which help in interviews.
