Kashmiri College Experience

I'm pursuing B.Tech in Information Technology branch, and the course curriculum is perfectly fine. We study each and every subject in our 4-year course which adds quality to our knowledge. I choose IT as I see growth in that the world is leading toward AI and IT. The faculty members are good and support us in every possible way. Our batch is of 70 students and each semester we got around 7-8 teachers respectively. As per the quality of teaching, the exams are also similar to that.

Companies offer internships and come in around 5-6 semesters of B.Tech. They offer internships and PPO as well. Student needs to become well known for the internships and if the student did great in the internship then the companies may offer Full Time offer with great CTC. But one can't completely rely on the companies that they will come and then we try. No, you have to try off campus as it is not necessary that lots of companies come for internship hiring.

The placements are like booming in the last few years. Students in 2016 are getting a 5 LPA average but now easily around 9-10 LPA. Companies are showing interest and offering a good number of offers to the students at a good CTC. This year, till now the highest package offered was 36.5 LPA and the total number of offers is going to be the maximum ever.

The fee structure is different for each group. Students having an annual family income of less than 1 Lakh have to pay just 3100 Rs per semester as their tuition fee. Students having that between 1-5 Lakh have to pay around 24000 per semester, and for more than 5 Lakh students have to pay 65000 approx as tuition fee. For SC/ST students they have to pay just 3100 per semester (no matter what their annual family income). If you're searching for a scholarship, go for FFE (foundation for excellence) - 40,000 per year.

Life at college is above average. The infrastructure is quite good and still upgrading in a better way. But the main problem is that you'll not get (or maybe very less) events where celebrities etc are coming as there is nothing like other IITs, or NITs regarding club events, parties, etc. Tech fest is there and also sports competitions among other NITs etc. Sports is a very fastly growing activity in this college. The library is also upgrading timely with updated books and also connected to fast internet.

The admission process was quite simple. We had to fill out the JEE Mains form and then give the test. After the result roll we have to fill our college and branch priority as per our ranking. After the JOSAA and CSAB rounds, you will get seats in your respected college. Each college has different ranges of ranking for a particular branch.
